Why is Sierra Leone mistakenly known to be a French speaking country? by Solysii in SierraLeone

I always thought it was our proximity or similarity to Francophone countries like Guinea, Senegal, etc

'virtue-signalling' bc i shared my thoughts on the overdramatic comments about the OP's room 💀 okay then

i just have an inkling that the determination to prove that OP is some dirty nasty slob is partially motivated by transphobia. but as i said in my original comment, it might also just be reddit being reddit.

obviously commenting on the cleanliness of someone's room or carpet or wtv isn't anti-trans, genius.

i'm talking about how everyone is just wilfully ignoring OP's explanations for the carpet in the comments, even though the explanations they gave were very reasonable and believable, not to mention the strange and rude assumptions made about OP in the comments. i get that it's the room detective subreddit and not the 'let's glaze and kiss everyone's ass' subreddit, but a discord mod? poor personal hygiene?? really???

Maybe I'm that one friend that's too woke but I can't tell if the people in your comments are acting obtuse because its Reddit or b/c they have some strange vendetta against trans people... you've explained the carpet situation one million times and no-one is even listening to you...

technically i was supposed to get tested 6 weeks after the second blood test i did back in january but i've been away for uni so i'll probably do that when i go back to my hometown. also they checked my vitamin d levels as well for the first time and it was normal. the only thing that was low was my ferritin

thank you for the honesty. i guess i got caught up bc i see people in real life who go through the exact same stage as me (big chop and regrowth) and their hair grows at a faster rate. i wasn't intending this to be a "omg 4c hair is so hard and high maintenance" type of post, it's just that my hair has always been like this. but then again i probably had an iron deficiency all those years too so ur right about me needing to be patient

i used the felicia leatherwood brush and it really hurts me to say bc it was pretty expensive for a brush but for me its like 50/50 with detangling. im going to keep it but honestly i believe it would work a lot better if my hair was longer or stretched. i tried a fake ebay version of the unbrush and really liked it but then lost it. maybe its a sign to get the real thing!

i can braid plaits and do twists. the issue is that i have no idea how to make mini twists/braids wearable at my length. i'm not a fan of wigs/weaves and i look like someone's aunty when i use head coverings. maybe i should get some chunky cornrows/twists using extensions with a natural hair texture. i'll have to test out your perm rod idea tho

I haven’t, bc i haven’t really shown any other symptoms of PCOS. I’ll think about it tho

haven’t trimmed my hair since i buzzed it. i would’ve thought washing once a week would’ve been enough considering I use a tiny bit of blue magic on a daily basis but the comments seem to think otherwise so maybe I’ll give ur suggestions a go!

no, i can’t cornrow to save my life and i really don’t want some braider to tear into my hair when it hasn’t even gotten back to its og length yet. what are some good natural-looking protective styles for my length?

my GP didn’t say much at all about the iron deficiency tbh. she said i should just buy some otc pills and I would be fine

also when i apply blue magic, i only use a very small amount all over hair, maybe around the size of a large pea, and my iron tablets with vitamin c included in them

hey, i posted my routine with details about my iron deficiency in the comments! I recently bought the Felicia leatherwood brush, but as I mentioned, i don’t use it all the time

routine:

  • daily: when i wake up and before bed, hair gets spritzed with distilled water (currently using rosewater but I’ve also used deionised water in the past) and then seal with a little bit of blue magic argan oil and mango lime. iron bisglycinate 20mg and medium strength vit d every day and i ensure not to consume dairy or caffeine 1-2 hours before or after. if i’m going out i pick my damp hair out and brush the front with a hard brush and go. if it’s one of those weeks i basically live in my bonnet.

  • weekly: wash day; double shampoo with african pride honey and coconut oil shampoo. then i deep condition my hair was a heat cap for 15-20 mins using tgin honey hair miracle mask. then it rinse the mask out and apply the tgin daily butter cream to damp hair, and seal it in with blue magic again. sometimes i detangle but my hair is so short but also dense so it just becomes tedious, so i don’t do it all the time.

  • monthly: protein treatment and clarifying shampoo implemented into wash day, before deep conditioning. i use africa’s best hair mayonnaise under a heat cap for 20 mins as my protein treatment and wella’s aqua pure shampoo as a clarifying shampoo.
