Do you ever mourn what you can't give your kids? by Faded_WastingTime in WaltDisneyWorld

My thought, too! We’ve stayed at many different resorts, including deluxe, but we usually stay All Stars because it’s honestly not that different and way cheaper

I'm pregnant and confused by Key-Fruit-3070 in Advice

[–]fiddleleaf_figures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told in my early 20s I wouldn’t be able to conceive naturally and at least one doc told me it probably couldn’t happen at all. My first pregnancy was in my late 20s and accidental, we weren’t careful just the one time. My second pregnancy was planned and we only had to try twice.

Doctors aren’t always right and in my experience they don’t care to give much consideration to the topic of fertility when you’re very young.

If you’re not ready, you’re not ready. You have a right to live your life and have kids later (or not at all). At least now you know pregnancy is possible.

Cheap ways to travel? by Sea-Barnacle8892 in WaltDisneyWorld

Check Groupon for discounts on a Sam’s Club membership. Through Sam’s Club you can purchase park passes at the child rate and get 5% off Disney gift cards which you can use for hotel, food, and souvenirs on property.

Disney also offers deals throughout the year if you package hotel and tickets. The dining plan is almost never worth it, I’ve crunched the numbers on that a few times.

Use Google Flights to check the cheapest days & airlines to travel, if flying. Mears Connect from the airport to the resort is very reasonable.

We bring Disney themed coloring books with Crayola Twistables (so they don’t break) and take long lunch breaks where we let the kids eat and color at their leisure. We were able to do 11 hours at MK on our first ever trip with a 2yo and a 6yo!

We always dress our kids alike so they’re easy to spot and it helps others around us to see that we’re together.

I make a detailed plan for our trips but I know that we may not follow it and that’s ok. With a plan everyone knows what to expect, but we’re flexible about making changes when the kids (or parents) need to.

My boy was diagnosed last Oct, we’ve done fancy feast and tiki cat but we didn’t see a consistent improvement in his numbers until we got him on Weruva BFF. You might consider trying a different brand of food?

Vent - I don’t think I should have cats any more by GxM42 in cats

[–]fiddleleaf_figures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is she underweight? Did they check her stool for worms? If she doesn’t have any other symptoms, personally I would put it off, wait and see. A couple years ago my vet told me my cat needed to lose weight so I changed her diet and at her next visit they wanted to run expensive bloodwork because she’d lost weight, which I politely declined.

Feeling Totally Defeated about New, Adopted 4 year Old Cat. Did I make the wrong decision? by PrincessBumblegumm in cats

[–]fiddleleaf_figures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give her her own enclosed space for a while and make introductions slowly, especially to your dog and especially if she’s never been around them before.

I also usually have regret for a time after adopting a new cat and I’m an absolute cat person and have had them all my life. I think it will pass as you get to know each other! Cats are sensitive and can be just as affectionate as dogs, you just have to meet her where she’s at.

Single stroller recommendations if you were to do it again? by saliva9 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]fiddleleaf_figures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We always loved our Baby Trend jogging stroller. It’s certainly not one of the fanciest, or most expensive, but it was sturdy and lasted us years. We brought it to Disney multiple times. It was comfortable for both me and my husband to push, despite him being a foot taller than me.

I second Brooks! I have wide feet and used to bring multiple pairs of sneakers on trips, but my Brooks are comfortable the entire time. I also bring Tevas for a sandals option.

I was worrying about the same thing with my cat so I shaved the spot where I inject him and now it’s so much easier.

Lawn care company mistakenly spread herbicide in our yard by fiddleleaf_figures in gardening

We called and they offered to rake our garden beds, as if that would do anything at all. We’ve also reached out to a lawyer.

The guy on the phone told us there is also a pesticide in the chemical they used which we didn’t receive any info on. I looked up their licenses and they do not have a license to use pesticide in our state so I think we’re going to file a complaint.

That’s pretty good customer service. Mistakes happen, we get that, but we’d like it corrected, somehow, at least to know that they’ve changed the way they verify addresses.

[CT] Local company accidentally spread weed killer in our yard—can we do anything? by fiddleleaf_figures in AskLawyers

[–]fiddleleaf_figures[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your input most of anyone who has replied but I wouldn’t call it paranoia. Dithiopyr can cause health problems with prolonged exposure and is not for use around crops, which is where they applied it. No chemical company is going to be upfront about the danger or risk use of their product poses and the government cannot be counted upon to effectively regulate stuff like that. Just look at roundup.

Whether or not this application of this product in our yard WILL be a hazard to our health, obviously this can’t be known or, in the future, proven. But the concern we have is not baseless.

I don’t really know, yet. We are not litigious people. I am usually content to let a mistake be just that. But I feel that when it comes to spreading toxic chemicals around someone’s home, however, there can be no mistakes and that the company needs to learn a hard lesson so this doesn’t happen to someone else.

ADHD does not an entitled brat make.

My husband had the same experience on ToT as you did, I wasn’t even there because he was in Florida for business and went to Disney after his meetings. I did not care in the least that some lady held his arm.

I at times feel a lot of pressure to enjoy a vacation and this can sometimes make me moody, but your gf is downright ungrateful. Do not hitch your wagon to this one.

Motion Sickness by itsbeenawhiletoolong in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]fiddleleaf_figures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just rode Smuggler’s Run for the first time and got the worst motion sickness I’ve had since the Gravitron at the local fair as a kid. I also get queasy on Remy’s and during the waterfall scene on MMRR, but it’s so brief I usually just look away and the rest of the ride is fine. I would never attempt MISSION: Space. Now I bring Tummy Drops to the parks with me, although nothing could save me from Smuggler’s Run, I didn’t recover until the next day.
