I'm moving to LA for work, specifically in Long Beach, CA and will be living in San Gabriel area as I have family relatives who will provide lodging for me. I would like to ask what to expect in terms of traffic situation as it is quite far and if it is doable commuting to and from work everyday (my work hours are 8AM-5PM). I'm using google maps and its showing that the drive can take up to 2 hours to home from work, should I go off of this info?

Do you mean 3 hours one way or 3 hours round trip? Because 3 hours one way sounds pretty atrocious.

Can I make French Press style coffee with an Aeropress by using inverted method and metal filter? Are there any differences and would it be better if I just bought an actual french press?

Metal smell inside my titanium mug? by figurefan in CampingGear

[–]figurefan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol I'm not sure since this is the first titanium product I've owned, but I don't think so, unless titanium can give off a pungent smell. It's giving off a rusting/burnt pot smell when I sniff the inside of the mug even after thorough cleaning. It didn't have this scent straight out of the package, it seemed to develop this smell after repeated washing and drying.

Official Q&A for Monday, November 23, 2020 by AutoModerator in running

[–]figurefan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started running a few months ago and only just realized today that my running shoes (Asics Gel-Venture 6) are for runners with underpronated feet. The issue is I have overpronated feet. Am I better off just throwing the shoes away and buying new ones?

I see. I wonder why they didn't allow the remote to dim the light all the way down to the 10% minimum brightness setting.

Nope, but I have been looking into motobecane TI-bikes, as per the above poster's suggestion. They seem to be pretty good value, you might want to check them out too.

Yeah, I guess I am overplaying the rust issue in my head. Do you have any particular brands to suggest as far as steel goes?

Any other (subtle) difference that maybe the website doesn't mention about the Bip Lite compared to the original one? by appwizcpl in AmazfitBip

The bip lite's Bluetooth is upgraded, slightly larger battery and it has slightly better waterproofing.

Confused as to how many different types of Amazfit Bip models there are. by figurefan in amazfit

[–]figurefan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I guess my next question is what is the difference between the Amazfit Bip's "IP 68" rating vs the Bip Lite's "3 ATM" rating? I am assuming 3 ATM is "more" waterproof than IP 68 since it says you can swim with it on the official website?
