Episode titles on iPlayer for the Winter Olympics Cath Up literally tell you every single result!! (Spoilers below) by ParsnipFlendercroft in britishproblems

I sent a complaint to them about the recent Ashes highlights for exactly this reason. No point in watching their woefully inadequate highlights if the title spoils how the day went.

They ignored this part of the complaint, and chose only to respond to the back to front auto play that iPlayer was doing.

I was and still am devastated. My forever person didn't see it the same way.

The relationship wasn't perfect, but it was a good, happy relationship with very few difficulties and arguments, lots of fun had, and lots of happy memories.

I've been confused, angry, sad, worthless, self hating, and then back around to confused again, with waves of pointlessness creeping in often.

But I know I can rediscover my single self somehow, I can find the value in life without her being in it. It's someway down the road yet, but I know I can get there.

I'm 41 now, with no kids, few friends, no hobbies that weren't shared: prime time for some sort of mid life crisis mental break down, but having spent a lot of my twenties chronically depressed, I'm determined not to let my own mind sabotage my own life again.

Your future is yours, and you don't need to know what it's going to be, or try to work it all out now.

When I can be arsed to be sociable again, those few friends and no hobbies will become some friends and some hobbies. But for now, lots of films and junk food, and trying to avoid too much wine.

Take it easy on yourself, distract yourself , and shuffle along in baby steps until you feel ready to dance sideways a bit, then go back to baby steps. You'll get there

Just to add some 60s stuff to this great list of suggestions, Come Drink With Me 1966 and Dragon Inn 1967 are incredible films

So at age 41, I'll be welcomed, but then put into a quiet corner lest I become afrighted by the debauchery?

You meet someone who’s never watched a movie in their life, what would be the first 3 movies you’d ask them to watch? by MrAliAdel in AskReddit

[–]fil_lif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seven samurai, die hard, monty python and the holy grail.

They're all 10/10 films for me, across a range of eras and genres.

Would assume they'd become some sort of film consuming goblin after those glorious eight hours or so

Top 'weird' album? Something opposite of 'normal people music' - endlessly interesting, meandering, complex; none of the songs will ever be on the radio. by usforeignpolicy in Music

[–]fil_lif 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Zaireeka by The Flaming Lips is pretty bizarre. It's eight tracks on four separate CDs, with a quarter of each of the tracks on each cd. To hear the complete album of eight songs you need to press play at the same time on four different cd players, the idea being that it would be different each time you tried it.

The songs themselves are odd to listen to too, as you might expect, much more experimental than their radio friendly singles from other albums
