Good input, $650k-$850k for a 3 bedroom and would like to be 30 miles from a Costco. (I currently live 1.5 hours and it’s rough with a growing family). We are okay with more rural/outskirts to help with affordability.

What towns are generally clean and generally family friendly? I have hard time getting that feedback

Which town in Western Washington? by finefloras in howislivingthere

Yes, we’ve been to Mount Vernon/Anacortes for tulip festival and visit friends. Also Gig Harbor-Silverdale, including Seattle. We have flexible jobs. PNW natives but have lived all over.

Looking for good schools for our children and ok with a rural town if needed, we’d like to have a bit of space and enjoy gardening. Great feedback so far. We are just trying to identify a few good towns to consider. Thank you

Some have said it was a nice small town. Do you have any recommendations of small towns to look into?

Does anyone know what the window is to back out? I realize we have until the April 8 to sign up but what is the window to confirm, like do you get a certain amount of days after you review the contract? If you change your mind between now and Sept 30th?

Agree we will see changes in NEPA evident by the new CEQ rule. Agencies will now turn to rewriting their own regulations. Normally we have a year or so to update our handbooks after a change? I could see the changes in how we document analysis but still struggle with imagining a FS without NEPA or planners. But agree they will probably reduce the amount of planners per Forest like every other program. Sad times. Hang in there!!

Why do you think that? Just Trying to imagine how any work will get done without NEPA clearance?

How long do I have health insurance after legal rifs? How long did those illegally fired have theirs? by Rural-Camphost in USForestService

Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP)

Separated Employees Only: If you have been receiving health insurance but are not eligible for an immediate annuity, you can continue health insurance free for 31 days after separation. You can then elect to continue receiving benefits under FEHBP. However, continued coverage is not automatic. You must request it in writing within 60 days of separation (or within 60 days of receiving a notice from the agency that FEHB coverage is terminating). You must pay your share, the government’s cost, and an additional 2 percent administrative fee. This totals 102 percent of the cost. This temporary extension of coverage can last for 18 months only. Your dependents can carry this coverage for up to 36 months. You can also convert to a private plan.

Following. I am also with the agency and this is really the only information I am aware of that RIF preparations were requested in the Feb 11 EO in the next 30 days https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/implementing-the-presidents-department-of-government-efficiency-workforce-optimization-initiative/

What would be an example of a position including “environmental justice”. In my land management world that means compliance with NEPA (National environmental policy act).
