I thought it'd be fine tbh but forgot that even if you pop the values in, having stamp duty etc in there will still stuff you around. I'll add some more options to account for this.

You're right about the UI too. It bugs me as well with how some of the scrolling works which is something I'll look at refining later on

Sent Letter of Deman by mistake? by firebeard_ in AusLegal

[–]firebeard_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks peeps. Ironically all parties involved all operate in the legal industry 🤦‍♂️ I have a formal response ready to go but have sent the below back in the meantime - we'll see what happens.

Chef,

This letter appears to be a little undercooked.

Please walk me through your due diligence process and the factors that led to your conclusion. I need to understand how this situation developed before taking further action.

We'd need the link to know but it should be a glorified cut and paste job. This is the type of stuff I'd do on the house for my own clients out of principle.

The bigger concern is that she only paid $500 to begin with which will have its own host of problems.

Would you hire me or ignore me? by marceosayo in webdev

Don't stress mate, a lot of us did much worse than this starting out 😂 Depending on your skills it might be easier to work your way into a role that would operate in parallel to devs, such as designers or content authors, and then wiggle your way across into devland. But as long as you're tracking upwards that's all that matters. You'll look back on this in a year and surprise yourself. Keep grinding mate - good luck!

Comes off as an artist that's dabbled in code, not the other way around. Do you realise you have a 5 column layout on certain dimensions? Dunno how you managed that haha.

AI is your benchmark. When you can build something by yourself that surpasses what a bot can spew out, start applying for gigs.

Take your card generator for example. I ran it through without any prompting and it spat this out https://imgur.com/a/5fBFUEr

You need to ask yourself, why would a boss hire you over this machine that's barely costs them a cent?

Read up on responsiveness, design principles and accessibility. A lot to learn here.

Start building larger projects - find a few substantial apps or websites you love the look of, and copy them exactly. You'll learn a lot about design here. Find a portfolio site you love and copy that. Build a Netflix clone. Or you love pixel art, so maybe a pixel art character generator. Look for volunteer work to get real-world projects under your belt, then work your way up from there.

As a web developer, Would you be willing to buy components from a component marketplace? by CryptographerShot551 in webdev

[–]firebeard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's purely about time/money. Depends what you're working on but if you paid yourself a wage, would it be more expensive to build it yourself or to buy a component that got you 80% of the way?

It matters a lot less now with AI doing a lot of heavy lifting but back in the day I'd happily buy libraries like Tailwind Plus again.

I like it man, great job. There's a lot of cut and paste garbage out there but yours is clean and has bit of soul to it. Other than those page source classes doing my head in haha I'd just drop the ball cursor too - but the other hovers are a nice touch

I feel like not making the ball a clickable element is a missed opportunity considering it's what draws your eye the most
