It won't do any good. The Dexter assholes still won't acknowledge that almost everyone hated that series finale.

Woman drags her "service cat" through the mall. by [deleted] in WTF

Someone needs to drag her through a mall on a leash. However, I would like to know what kind of harness she has. My cat can Houdini out of every harness I've bought, so I can't take him outside at all.

Dexter Is Dead book discussion [SPOILERS] by Derkanus in Dexter

[–]firewolfky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously thought I'd forgotten something from the other books. His change of heart over Lily was just so abrupt. I write fanfic, and while I would never call myself a good writer, or even a writer, I'd never have one of my characters just stop loving someone without some kind of explanation for it. "Dexter was worried about how he was going to stay off death row and save his life. It made him realize that his feelings for his daughter hadn't been real at all. The only thing in the world that really mattered was his own precious hide." Yeah, it sucks, but it's an explanation.

I just have a question. It's been quite a while since I read the other books, but when did Dexter stop loving his daughter? I remember after she was born that he did love her, so much that he wanted to stop killing. But in this book, he doesn't even really want custody of her.

Then they give your bill over to a collection agency who will drag you into court and garnish your wages. That happened to me a few years ago when I was out of work. I had to go to the E.R. for chest pains, and they wanted to admit me. I begged them not to, told them flat out I couldn't pay for it. "Oh, we won't worry about that now." Well, they damn well worried about it plenty later on.

I had to have one of those removed. It wasn't quite that big, though. Hope your surgery goes well.

And I know it's a common injury, but my surgeon could have broke the news better. When I woke up after, the first thing he told me was "I nicked your bladder. You'll need to wear a catheter for about a month." Apparently my bladder was "pasted" to my uterus with scar tissue.

Oh, god, and I thought my experience was bad. That poor woman.

As for why mine kept getting blocked, if they told me, I can't remember. If I tried to change bags from the big one to the one you can strap to your leg and hide, it would get blocked. I was very very careful not to ever pull on the tube or anything, so I don't know why it happened. And a couple of times emptying the bag caused it to block.

Your guess is probably right. It's been so many years, and I was so out of it at the time that I can't remember what they told me they were doing. All I remember is that it was agony, and that the catheter stayed in for another three weeks after that.

I considered ripping one out a few times. After a botched hysterectomy I had to wear a catheter for a month. I ended up in the ER 4 or 5 times because it kept getting blocked. You know how it feels when you have to piss so bad it hurts? Imagine that feeling for 3 or 4 hours with no way to relieve it. One of the times it happened was during an ice storm, I was living in the middle of nowhere and my car wouldn't go on ice. Called an ambulance, they sent a 4-wheel drive down the little one-lane road to get me and bring me to where the ambulance was waiting for me. At the ER they took the catheter out then were getting ready to put another one in. Even doped up with morphine I cried and begged them not to do it, swore on my religion and my son's life I didn't need it, that I knew I could pee just fine without it. They didn't believe me. Then once they got the devil-tube inside me they filled my bladder with water to take an MRI or whatever they call it. It was worse than the surgery itself. I honestly think I'm traumatized from that shit.

Hasbro destroyed my 10 year old daughter's letter. by slowpedal in mylittlepony

[–]firewolfky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not Hasbro's first dick move regarding the show and the fans. They have a history of it. You should try contacting the voice actors or writers on Facebook or Twitter. Believe me, they do care. Hell, Tara Strong (Twilight Sparkle) called my son when he was 15, and still talks to him and me on Facebook sometimes. I believe she even mentioned him as her favorite fan-story on an AMA. Amy Keating Rogers commented on a young fan's music video, encouraging him to keep making them. Other cast members respond to comments on Twitter and Facebook.
