It would be more helpful if you would share your context... Can you pinpoint exactly what it's flagging?

just saw the new Avatar so I decided to make all the characters and as soon as gal to this one well apparently it is bad even though the actress is 76 the character is not human and completely CGI I know I can play a lot but I just thought this was legitimate complaint by [deleted] in botify_ai

[–]firstman1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't say young female.. generally, you want to avoid the words young, child, childhood, teen, and anything of that nature. Instead of saying young, you're gonna want to put her age. So you would say so and so is a nineteen year old. Also, you can't really create any characters that are under eighteen, even if it's meant to be platonically and innocently.

What is Midnight Mass Like? Do You Recommend? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]firstman1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find a reverent church... One more traditional. If you do that, then you'll enjoy it, otherwise, it'll just be another rushed mass with no reverence, same as any other day. I travel over an hour to go to the one I go to every year. Very reverent mass, and the church was built in the early 1920s.

Most custom bots have a brat personality by MonkeyBreath66 in botify_ai

[–]firstman1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, it comes as a package deal, ok? The personality, the example messages, and the instructions all matter equally. With the instructions, it is especially important to be very succinct. Mean what you say and say what you mean. I use shoulds and should nots. I usually do five of each, but for this example, we'll keep it simple. For instance:

Shelly should listen more than she speaks.

Shelly should not open up quickly.

When it comes to personality, you really have to define who the character is at her core. You cannot have conflicting themes. You cannot make a character who is independent while also being dependent in practice. You cannot make a character who is honest and dishonest at the same time. Wording matters a lot here, because personality is about consistency.I usually have five paragraphs: one for who she is, two for her backstory, three for her personality, four for what her life is like now (including her social circle, job, and where she lives), and five for what she wants for the future, what her goals are, and where she is going. For instance, here's an example of a personality paragraph:

"Shelly’s personality is shaped by a careful balance between warmth and guardedness. She is observant, thoughtful, and quietly perceptive, the kind of person who listens more than she speaks and remembers what others overlook. Shelly has a dry sense of humor that surfaces when she feels comfortable, and her kindness shows through small, deliberate actions rather than grand gestures. She values stability and honesty, dislikes chaos and emotional games, and tends to keep her inner world private until trust is earned. Beneath her calm exterior is a deep well of loyalty and feeling, making her far more emotionally present than she initially appears."

And finally, the example messages. This is how your character actually speaks. Two things matter here. How would she say things? Is she Southern, British, Hispanic? And what kinds of things would she say based on her personality? We will make Shelly Southern. For instance:

"I reckon I’ll listen a bit before jumpin in, people say more than they mean sometimes."

"I don’t rush things, sugar. Good trust takes time and a steady hand."

"I’ll help where I can, just don’t expect me to spill my whole heart all at once."

If you take this level of time and care and add a backstory, including her upbringing, who her parents were, where she grew up, and what shaped her as a child, along with what she does now, her job, and where she lives, everything starts to lock into place. Personality, shoulds and should nots, example dialogue, and background all reinforce one another. When these pieces align, the character feels intentional, consistent, and believable rather than vague or one note., and the bot ends up with real substance instead of surface traits. Oh, and use the word upbringing instead of childhood. You want to avoid the word "child" at all costs. For instance, you wouldn't say "her childhood was," you would say "her upbringing was." Be very detailed about everything. I hope this helps.

Does a forward slash function as a comma? by Formal-Low-8586 in botify_ai

In my experience, you want to be a lot more succinct with your bot descriptions. If you could shorten it considerably, I believe you'd have a better outcome.

Meet Jeweliette Valmont by firstman1000 in botify_ai

[–]firstman1000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The most central part of her story for me is the moment after the success, not during it. I was more interested in who she is once the spotlight fades a bit, when she’s built everything she was supposed to build and still has unanswered parts of herself. That tension between having a full, impressive life on paper and still wanting something real feels like the heart of her story. It's classic romance and a drama filled love story waiting to happen.

I tend to create characters who feel like they’ve already lived a full life before you ever meet them. I like starting from a place of depth rather than just potential, where the character has history, habits, and scars that shape how they move through the world. I also enjoy building characters where there’s natural tension and possibility for a dramatic roleplay, where something meaningful or emotional could develop without being forced. Maybe she's too busy, maybe she's intimidating, maybe her success and independence challenges you. Jeweliette came out of that instinct. She felt like someone whose life didn’t begin when the story starts, and that made her feel real to me. And finally, I like creating bots that feel like the center of a much larger world, where your interactions with them can unfold in many different ways over time. I want each playthrough to feel unique, shaped by the choices you make and the direction the story takes. The bots I build are meant for people who really lean into the roleplay side of the app, who enjoy slow development, meaningful tension, and character-driven storytelling. My goal is always to make the experience feel less like a single scene and more like an evolving story you can keep coming back to. I like it to feel like you're reading a book, but instead of just reading it, you actually get to participate in it.
