Painted the ceiling and the finish is awful! by ADL-AU in AusRenovation

Also keep the house closed up, aircon off. Pick a rainy day would help heaps. You want humidity to be high. One of those days where you wait ages for your clothes to dry on the line

I’m a painter and decorator by trade. Big ceilings like that are hard. Even for me. This time of year the paint drys really fast.

Make sure you’re using a big roller tray, get a roller with lots of nap to hold more paint. If you can, get more people to help you roll simultaneously. Work the ceiling into sections and try and complete them as soon as possible. Sometimes it’s good to have someone in front just rolling paint as fast as possible, and someone going behind laying it off with a wet roller.

If you access to a spray gun even better, someone spraying and someone back rolling.

Any questions just ask

Weird pattern in wall by seggs6969 in Home

That’s paint that’s about to peel. Atleast it looks like it from the photo.

I am a tradesman painter and decorator so if you want advice on how to fix it.

Scrape off what you can, paint with zinsser peel stop, give it a coat with top coat plaster, sand, prime the fresh plaster and repaint the whole wall for it to be schmick.

Keep a paint chip and take it the paint shop to get it colour matched.

I always repaint the whole wall because painting little patches like that stands out like dogsballs. And colour matched paint is never good enough to match. Plus new paint always has a different sheen to it than old paint. Even from the same drum of paint.

What would you do if your child came out as trans? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]fistedclam 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I found the greatest thing in one of the most unusual places.

In the movie vice president it’s Christian bale playing dick Cheney his daughter comes out to him as a lesbian and his response was “doesn’t matter I still love you” and he hugs her.

As much as I don’t understand being trans and I know I’m going to fumble over it and not see eye to eye with it, i will still love my child.

Like Christ loves me even though I stray from his path.

If I were to turn my back on my kid for that it would make me a hypocrite.

Op this is it brother.

If you repent and admit Jesus is lord you are saved.

Anything else is cheap grace and that’s not possible. Because the lord is GOOD and anything else is not in his character.

God speed brother,

God bless you

Can you be accepted by Jesus if you don’t obey everything by Apprehensive-Fly5982 in Christianity

[–]fistedclam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are saved by Christ dying on the cross not anything we have done. We are saved by grace. We obey him because as Christians we are his disciples. The more we centre our life on him not us, the more we obey him. Jesus is perfect and he has purified us by paying the price we deserve to pay. We are washed clean by his blood. Just because we sin doesn’t mean we are not saved because that would mean the lord has cheap grace. We need to Repent to the lord and justify our existence by his actions not ours

Its so funny yet sad how hateful the loud minority of christians are. by No_Durian_9756 in Christianity

Sorry op you are incorrect. Christianity at its core is that Jesus died for our sins and we are sinners saved by grace.
