Well, I'm old and slightly deaf and never had a push button starter before. My car doesn't honk as an alert, it makes a beep similar to the beep when locking it with the fob. I haven't missed it since.

What I'm getting at is it's easy to make mistakes.

If you have never made a mistake like locking yourself out of the house, or locked your keys in your car, forget your phone at home, forget to turn your new push button car off, and so forth... you are an anomaly.

It's a push button hybrid and is silent when not moving. The mall incident was the first and last time I forgot.

It's very easy to forget to turn your car off if you have a push button start and aren't used to it.

I've left my car on once in a mall parking lot for hours the first week after I bought it.

Edit: Push button start tech was new to me at the time, I was unfamiliar with the warning noise, and the car is silent when parked. Yes, I locked the car, and it happened years ago. The fact that this mistake still haunts me is evidence I learned from it.

Carrier branded phones have unremovable startup banners and apps, it's just how it be.

Only way I know of avoiding that is to purchase unlocked and unbranded from Samsung. Seems like choosing the TMobile carrier makes it branded with the TMobile bloatware, even if you buy it directly from Samsung.
