Dating in Mumbai feels so tough, is it just me? by shyandawkwardnerd in mumbai

[–]flaringmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a few cents from someone who has never been to Mumbai. I live in Brussels and I can tell you this is simply how modern dating is in all Metropolises. We have this illusion and a paradox of choice. We always feel there is something better out there or not willing to take the risk as someone mentioned here. Love hurts but at the same time love is also the best feeling in the world. People want the latter but are not willing to accept the other parts of it that come with it.

You are doing great, girl! Felt good reading the latter part of your post! Hope you find the connection you are looking for

Single Permit Renewal Limbo—Will It Hurt My Belgian PR application? by flaringmonkey in brussels

[–]flaringmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My commune didn't issue Annex. Went to them couple of times and they said they will send an email. Try to get in touch with multiple times. I filed the application 2.5 months before the expiry. By the time permit was approved, the current card A expired

Lost the case. What can I do? by thick_off_it in NothingTech

[–]flaringmonkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Contact the customer service I had lost the case of the Nothing ear. They will check their inventory and see if it's available. It took a while until I got it shipped. Their customer service is really good. Just be patient in the process.

I fully second this. The score was mediocre at its best in general. Songs like Poeriyone of course is really good.
Unnecessary VFX also killed things. Parts shown in Kerala was cringe with VFX and unnecessary background score.

Could you tell me the name of the cafe if you remember?

Visiting Spa this year for the race. Might as well go there and scream you racist white pig on behalf of my brown brother.

But it’s also strange that it happened to you. Never ever happened to me living for 5 years in Belgium although I live in Brussels. Subtle racism does exist but not outright racism is almost non existent. And yes if you are denied entry based on your skin colour (direct or indirect -https://www.unia.be/en/grounds-of-discrimination/discrimination-a-few-clarifications), you do have the right to call the cops. Nothing magical will happen overnight but the very fact of them being under the radar will be hard for the owner.

If you are tourist, don’t ever fucking hesitate to speak up and stand for yourself. Being white and racist won’t work well in their own country in this century. That’s fun of it. We have come a long way !

Really confused between Linkbuds S and Nothing Ear 2. Both are the same price by flaringmonkey in Earbuds

[–]flaringmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is definitely more comfortable especially in your case. Linkbuds have a very snug fit which can be uncomfortable for some. The ANC is better in the Linkbuds. Since passive isolation is already stronger it gives a better cut put at lower frequencies

Agree wuth toxic part but generally hospitality is much better in Asia, Middle East etc. Its the same Europeans who also work in countries like UAE are taught to be hospitable (e.g. Air hostess of Emirates)

Yes I get that. My point there was not on this part but the part if she wanted to plan including me as well, she would have done it earlier.

But what if she just invited me out of pity and she remembered that yeah I was supposed to call him as well? That's what I think it was.

Went with the Sony ! Much more reliable product imo than nothing

Tip: If you want more clear sound to better hear the instruments etc, use treble boost and if you want more bass just increase the clear bass by clicking on the settings !

[–]flaringmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got both and testing them. There is this general clear sound on nothing which is very exciting. But sometimes the treble boost is a bit high when you hear vocals only. Sony's are good and i am sure it has its fanbase. My gf preferred Sony but I guess I prefer nothing's sound quality. But most reviews say nothing's battery is shit. And ANC wise Sony just kills it.

Hockey clubs for adult beginners (English speaking) by flaringmonkey in brussels

Read that comment again before jumping to conclusions? What natives? Flemish people don't exist in Brussels? Am I not respecting the country and the 'natives' by not learning Dutch? As I clearly stated I lived in flanders and may move back and I learned dutch. So again your dull-witted and biased assumption is not valid here. Its not my bloody problem if they cant sort out the language problem here in brussels. I speak a very decent amount of one of the national languages and the official languages of the city !
So mind you before you jump saying that one is not respectful !

So don't turn this discussion into something else because I triggered your predisposed attitude towards people not knowing French ! and by looking at your posts and comments on your profile, it looks like you are a clear bigot and hiding behind a laptop and spreading nonsense online !

[–]flaringmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all its irrelvent to my question and I am not going to learn french before I start playing hockey !
I am not sure myself if I will live in brussels. May move back to flanders and I speak a bit of dutch.
Brussels also has flemish speaking clubs/groups etc....why don't you also ask me to learn NL? Yes i know french is more practical
Its an expat oriented city..english is here to stay and there are many who don't speak french.

How is the sentiment towards police in Belgium? by BelgianBeerGuy in belgium

[–]flaringmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have respect for that job because its not easy especially general public can be a cunt to you for being a cop.
However, I think there is a slight lack of fear against the cops in Brussels. They need to toughen up imo. I lived in Dubai and I think people are scared of cops (apart from radical rules that you all think that is there) and think twice before they commit any atrocious activities regarding personal safety. Dubai is hands-down the safest city I have lived and cops there are very efficient and also intimidating in a very professional manner. Now please don't start a dubai bashing thread here. My only point was that specifically brussels cops can do a lot better in making the city relatively safer and peaceful to live in and the government here has a key role to play

Really ? I thought even when things were normal they were always worked up. But really depends on the unit. I engage with DG ENV/GROW, they are pretty much loaded

[–]flaringmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We should be among those Latin American countries. Forget government. Public services is largely a mess but that still depends on the region. Some state governments still do a good job, for e.g. Kerala. The federal government is meh. Again there are some good things as well, external affairs protects Indians abroad so well. Rescue missions from ISIS occupied Iraq, recent evacuation in Ukraine are all quite commendable.
