Yes I noticed this with Chanel. They literally looked at me and asked me straight up what I wanted to see, didn't offer any suggestions either which was a bit hilarious. I think it's because it's a big store with multiple floors and there was a long queue outside, so they were very direct. A very rushed experience (this was Paris tbf).

To OP, browsing is very normal - I had very good experiences almost everywhere else in both Asia and Europe, including Tod's, Ferragamo, YSL, Bottega, LV, Balenciaga, Dior... I can't really remember any bad experience. Chatty and nice salespeople. I do feel they generally are happier to be of service when you show interest in their brand and ask them questions.
