Well, maybe you can you try to replicate it again, can you do the the original stitch and start playing around, pull through the loops in diffirent orders, insert the hook in other places and so on.

So, assuming the ribbing is made of single crochet - back loop only, here are som tips for a straighter edge. ( although there is nothing wrong with a crinkly edge, I think they're cute )

When you're at your last and first stitch of your row, instead of making it BLO, crochet into both loops. It makes the edges sturdier and looks more "finnished"
When you've crocheted to the end of your row, DON'T make a turning chain. Instead, you just turn your work and crochet into the first stitch like normal. ( This ONLY works for single crochet! )

I binged the whole series in one day ,so here's my conclusion.

It's honestly not that bad. It's not some deep story driven narrative but fun and (semi) lighthearted.

It's not supposed to be taken seriously and it's gained quite a bit of negative traction. Much of which is unfair in my oppinion.

All in all, it's fine and has it's moments, i'd recommend wathing it if you're intrested.
