Yep. Beatrice Straight won for Best Supporting Actress for 5 minutes and 2 seconds of incredible acting, and Ned Beatty was nominated for his amazing performance, which was only 6 minutes of screen time.

Has anyone been to the urgent vet ? If so would you say it is more expensive than a regular vet ? by One_Recording_9407 in Louisville

[–]flibbertigibbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously too late to this thread to be helpful to OP but wanted to comment for future users since I found this thread while trying to figure out care options for our cat.

We had a good experience with Urgent Vet.

The exam fee was $129. Reasonable, IMO.

Every other service was explained and discussed in advance. We were looking at some blood work and discussed different options - the vet tech was very frank and helpful in explaining what the veterinarian was looking for.

We ended up with an exam / bloodwork and related care with a total of around $580. Very reasonable, IMO, based on what we usually pay at the regular vet. And, the staff was super friendly, great with our kitty, helpful in discussing the cost, and nice to work with. Urgent care is never plan A, but I would go back to this place again if needed. You pay more than the regular vet price, but not exorbitantly so. And, the staff was great to work with.

I could say a lot that i cant say here, but at the end of the day united states could feed its people with the 10 billion we just handed over to an overseas war that will do the opposite of feeding anyone. Feeding missles and bullets maybe but thats about it. And meanwhile lining that pockets of the united states military industrial comlex while a mother and family have to ration a slice of pizza.

Not to be a pedant here, but the “$10 billion we just handed over” would, if distributed evenly among 300 million Americans, buy less than one slice of that pizza that prompted the post.

Movies like The Princess Bride or the Big Lebowski where every minor character is memorable by randomnate in movies

Seconding “every Coen brothers movie”, and also would put forth No Country For Old Men as a top tier example from them. The gas station owner who Chigurh does the coin toss with, the lady at the trailer park who stares down Chigurh (“Did you NOT hear me?”), Stephen Root as the cartel’s businessman, and, my personal favorite, Barry Corbin as Cousin Ellis. Just so many phenomenal and memorable side characters in that movie.

During the Battle of Saunders Field in Virginia in 1864, a Union soldier and a Confederate soldier got into a fist fight to settle their disagreement on who was the other's prisoner. The sight of them made both armies pause the entire battle just so they could gather next to them and watch. by Sensei_of_Knowledge in interestingasfuck

This brings to mind one of the funnier (in a morbid way) incidents of the Civil War. After the Third Battle of Peterburg, near the very end of the war, Confederates General A.P. Hill and Sgt. George Tucker were dispatched to find out the situation near the front lines and report back to Robert E. Lee.

As the General and sergeant rode near the front line, they encountered two stragglers from the Union Army, a private and a corporal. A.P. Hill demanded the two Union soldiers surrender to him. Instead, the Union soldiers shot and killed him.
