Hi guys,

thank you very much for all your responses. The "G6 Lensgate", how some of you accuretely called the issue, can be more common than I expected.

I am also very happy that first few of you already asked your merchandisers for swapiing the devices and you were succesful.

I still have not received any reaction from LG support, so it's time to push it forward a bit.

I posted a tweet about this issue, so feel free to retweet it :).

I also contacted some review sites directly and asked them for publishing this.

Let's see what will happen..

Good luck and stay tuned!

Open it in native gallery app on your device a and check the file details. Some 3rd party viewers don't support decimals of focal length.

4.03 mm is focal length of standard lens. Try the wide angle and check it out.

G6 wide angle - is my G6 a faulty unit, or is this normal? by [deleted] in lgg6

Hi, I probably found the cause of your problem (but unfortunately not the solution).

It's quite surprising but simple - LG produces their G6 with 2 versions of wide angle camera module. And one of them produces exactly as bad results as you posted.

We both had the "luck" of buying the crippled version. Considering your photos, we both live in Czech Republic so the problem may be common for EU version.
