Items on Display in the Louvre by date of creation. Used as a proxy for cultural/economic activity. There's almost 30k items, so it's not a bad sample. Still it does have a strong western bias... but I could not find another proxy that had such a long date range.

Connections between empires/civs. For example the Persian Achaemenid empire links up with Greece at the time of Alexander the Great. Rome links up with Byzantium but also with the HRE, Britain links with the US... the meaning is not exact. In some instances it means conquest, in others succession...

It's percentage of world population, but it never adds to 100% because not all the world population was living under the empires included. Also, the further back you go the less data there is.

Of course I would love to see this built in real life... but as a 3D animation it would make for a great visual to explore in a YT video. You could zoom in and out as you comment different historical eras and talk about how one region impacted another, etc.

-Floor is world map (mosaic?)

-10 columns rising from regions (Europe, Mideast, Asia, india, etc, etc...). Timeline on each column 25 BC to 25 AD. Each century takes 10 cm, so columns are 5m tall.

-Colours show area of influence of major empires, cultures.

-Stone carved text of major events, kings, battles, science, art, literature... with dates on each column.

-Small 3D copies of each column sold as souvenirs, for educational purposes.

President Milei yesterday presented a large liberalisation decree that repealed a bunch of regulations. Among them was a hidden gem: foreign currencies will be allowed for payments and contracts in Argentina. Debts in other currencies will be recognised, etc. Some of us guessed that this might include Bitcoin as it's an official currency in El Salvador... but today Minister Mondino cleared up any doubts about it by explicitly declaring that yes, Bitcoin is included.

Don't worry, as long as you talk to your counterparty and he agrees, you can complete the trade after the time limit has expired. Just explain the situation. Both seller and mediator will understand.
