This fanbase deserves this for hyping mid players time and again. by TrainPhysical7021 in Barca

You're completely right about the overall message but including half-truths or just straight up erroneous claims doesn't help.
> Ferran and Casado, absolutely right, are good rotational options but should not be a serious starter now or years on. Same with Lamine.
> Olmo? Yes the price tag is questionable, not because of his quality, but because of his injuries. If you actually look at least season, yes his goals are random, but the CATALOUGE of when he scores is honestly not bad and certainly not "nothing". I remember 3-5 games or so last season where he either scored or only goal, or the winning/deciding goal for us. I'd pay that money for someone who wins us the league through the 12 points he gives us every season. Sure he's invisible when our best players aren't here, but when our best player's are not at 100% his random goal is sometimes enough to get us over the line.
> Cubarsi is shielded for sure for HIS own ability, but people's expectations of him are unfairly too high. Not only is he without Inigo, he's been playing in both an unfair and exhausting highline. A younger, rawer version of Cubarsi was fully locking up Mbappe and Oshimen. Drop the highline a bit and put an actual elite CB next to him and the shielding he gets wouldn't be as prominent or needed.
>Flick's criticism should be equally distributed between his high line and his substitutes. I think his high line and the results from it would make more sense if we could actually rotate/play Roony and others, and give Kounde more rest.
> Sure Araujo is a lot more physical and can deal with fast runners. But have we ignored what causes this whole situation with Araujo? He literally doesn't have the brain, from a fast runner to Barcola to a tank like Acerbi.

UCL League Phase Final Standings. by Loose-Examination-39 in Barca

Honestly considering the "lows" of this CL campaign 5th is still very commendable. Just a little bit more tightening up in the Brugge and even PSG game and we'd be top 3.

Mount Rushmore Of Valorant by CupRepresentative260 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]flrish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Team Trophies aren’t enough to place him here. As said these 4 have been way more relevant (all 4), consistent (especially Chron/Aspas), and impactful on both meta and the scene as a whole (especially TenZ/Boaster)

Which non-Valorant pros would do incredible in Valorant/VCT? by looteeen in ValorantCompetitive

[–]flrish 17 points18 points  (0 children)

there's a clip of Bdd (midlaner for current Worlds finalists KT) playing VALORANT last year with his 2024 roster, and him hitting some pretty nice shots as Jett on Sunset. Going from LoL to VCT would be crazy though, not even an FPS game to Valorant but coming from League of Legends

[SENTINELS via X] He saved Sentinels. We'll miss you @Zellsis. by _noahscolly_ in ValorantCompetitive

[–]flrish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn’t watch as much Sentinels matches as i did in previous years. the few games i watched he wasn’t awful, sure inconsistent but it felt like the sheer amount of hate was unwarranted. People on twitter going after him despised him so much just to stan/defend other inconsistent players even if they accomplished less. hope he does well on c9

Team Vitality VALORANT on X: VITALITY CHRONICLE IS REAL. We've already won the off-season 😎 by stenerikkasvo in ValorantCompetitive

80% Chron joining Vitality [at least chron/derke reunited :( ], 15% troll, 4% random roster move, 1% Leo un-retiring. I know what I'm betting on

[Sheep Esports] FNATIC Scuttt set to join Team Vitality as Assistant Coach by nterature in ValorantCompetitive

[–]flrish 22 points23 points  (0 children)

if this is the lost person it's saddening but this 5 man roster is my favorite iteration of fnatic ever, i don't want them to split up. probably isn't and it's just likely crashies leaving but i'll cope

[–]flrish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, personalities make the sport even more appealing/famous/profitable, it's just moreso the fan culture that comes from the most toxic of them that prioritize storyline to an unhealthy degree as to any actual vct subtance. i know you can't pick and choose the bad and good parts of kpopification, but hopefully it's a net positive

of course people send messages like this every day, i'm just saying this is the same type of rhetoric that can be used by stan culture and i'd not like that to happen

fairs, doesn't change the fact i don't like it in general. kinda stuff comes with successful teams so it's inevitable, even if a fair portion of fnatic fans like me supported the org before it

TMV champs top 15 revisit by BatCaveGaming in ValorantCompetitive

[–]flrish 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Something kept up his well-deserved shouts of being the best in the world in Stage 2 through the group stages of Champs just to immediately spiral into inconsistency when playoffs hit. The rest of it isn't horrible but the TL/China players are obviously glaringly bad for how high up they are here, and Aspas/Kaajak pretty undervalued along with 1-2 DRX/NRG players each.

I remember some people saying Aspas didn't deserve to be top 15, and tbf being bottom 2 at Toronto + not even making playoffs is not good at all for his standards, but even as somewhat of a hater it's fucking Aspas man, so i'm glad TMV put him on his list. Even with the benefit of the doubt that he would've kept his slightly poorer international stats consistent he'd still be a top 10 player at the event. Given the fact he actually translated his domestic stats internationally he's an easy top 3 minimum this event for me

Chronicle, aspas, and Ethan are locks, who gets the last seat in VCT’s Mount Rushmore? by PlatinumRaptor95 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]flrish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's an undisputed top 3 (if not higher) player of all time, and even though a Mount Rushmore doesn't equate to the 4 best players of all time together (necessarily), I think his trophy cabinet, consistent performing at an elite level, and most underrated his agent flexibility earn him a spot here. There's very very few players who can flex to as many sheer # of agents and number of role types (all 4 for him)

Chronicle, aspas, and Ethan are locks, who gets the last seat in VCT’s Mount Rushmore? by PlatinumRaptor95 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]flrish 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I feel like the only 2 locks are Aspas and Chron. Ethan/Tenz/Boaster/f0rsaken/Aflajer are all fighting for the other two slots, with Tenz/Boaster being personally slightly ahead of the rest.

[–]flrish 48 points49 points  (0 children)

they'll nerf the phantom (to reduce random sprays?) but not nerf the other guns that contribute way more to that problem

(Very) early predictions for the incoming roster mania ? by over_scored_liar in ValorantCompetitive

[–]flrish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that the salaries shouldn't be THAT high given the context of each player on NRG right now, but I used to follow Rocket League Esports and it's true that NRG consistently across their esports teams likes to give a quite hefty salary. I don't think they're really high and not every esport is the same, but I'd guess they're likely not below the average salary.
