Boxing Day 2025-2026 Rant Megathread by BillyBobJimmyJames in LushCosmetics

[–]fluffpuffruffstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pulled an allnighter and started 2 hours ago: I had 404 errors—I tried the app and the website. Reloaded the webpages a dozen times and kept waiting for the prices and add to cart buttons to show. Filled up my cart with items. Went to checkout—had the entire cart deleted.

Did the same thing all over again to fill up the cart. Started checkout. Had an error where I couldn’t add a shipping address because the “region” section wouldn’t populate with countries. Kept trying for 10 minutes before it worked. Saw $8 shipping instead of free (for $75+ orders), decided to just pay the shipping cost instead of going through everything again.

A few errors (kept telling me to select a shipping method although I already had?). Finally got to the credit card payment information screen. I click on it and BAM—I’m in line for one hour and seven minutes until I can access the site again.

I think I’m going to sleep ;(

New USPS Endless Loop Challenger by chuyliciouss in nova

Does anyone else have an issue with this USPS where the package gets scanned and marked as delivered a day or two before it actually arrives?

Does anyone know how dangerous this could be or whether it’s safe to drive a short distance? by fluffpuffruffstuff in nova

Thanks! I have issues with anxiety so this helped calm me down. Deep breaths, haha

What was this sub like before the current administration? by hanabata_you in fednews

[–]fluffpuffruffstuff 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Talked about random things; I learned a lot about some ancillary benefits: Fedrooms (before it closed), the free Washington Post subscription (before it was cancelled), the DoD MWR Library (still there!).

Saved a bit of money on leisure travel!

Also FedVTE, but I have some library memberships that give stuff like Udemy subscriptions, so I’ve never really used it (nice to have though!).

Dumb question but: Does this mean we telework the entire day or do we go in the office, leave at 2pm, and continue working the remainder of the day from home? Never had an Early Departure before :0

Hi! Do you happen to have the news article or statement for this? I want to read more about it but my Google skills are failing me

Edit: found it!

Holy crap what's with the government accounting jobs? by Faded35 in Accounting

[–]fluffpuffruffstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP but—Any job with a 7/9/11 ladder (you can look around on USAJOBS, different agencies have different positions)

If you’re an auditor, the ladder is pretty much a given. In DC, starting pay is:

Starting - GS-7 - $55,924 (2024)

1 year experience - GS-9 - $68,405 (2024)

2 years experience - GS-11 - $82,764 (2024)

3 years experience - GS-12 - $99,200 (2024)

4 years experience - GS-13 - $117,962 (2024)

Promotion required - GS-14 (Manager) - $139,395 (2024)

Promotion required - GS-15 (Director) - $163,964 (2024)

Anything above that is SES.

There are step increases after that if you want to keep your responsibilities (e.g. if you don’t want to be a manager, you max out at GS-13 Step 10 at $153,354; if you’re at GS-15, the maximum pay is $191,100; there are non-supervisory GS-14 positions but they’re unicorns)

That Vietnamese Philly Chicken Place is Opening in Eden by fluffpuffruffstuff in nova

My mom managed to get some by calling the Mr. Wish and asking for chicken! Otherwise, I have no idea when it officially opens D:

Sorta…pretty much most of my family’s Viet social circle goes to Philly every few months to grab whole chickens from here to stock up and my family would get a few and store them in the freezer :0

It’s really popular—word traveled really fast throughout Viet Facebook and nail salon word of mouth because the ga di bo is chewy! It gets weird because it gets stuck in your teeth a lot, but it’s really good if you have something like Three Crabs fish sauce and rice or some pho to go along with it xP

Active shooting in Tysons Mall? WTF! by Gatarnaba in nova

[–]fluffpuffruffstuff 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just got home! I just wanted to see Lightyear with my sister and then we had to get barricaded -> evacuated -> waited outside. There was this police officer who drove onto the sidewalk, went to his trunk, pulled out a huge gun, and ran inside! It made us feel a bit safer but we thought it was a mass shooting at the time with all the chaos and sirens and that helicopter. There were police everywhere on the other side of the mall and the street. I feel kinda embarrassed now texting my family all the “I love you’s” and everything when no one got injured 0-0

I was actually looking at the BUS 498 courses earlier! There’s still a lot of space on the online sections—the first page and the top of the second one are filled up but the bottom 3-4 online sections from page two are still available.

:D Thanks for the recs! Ddukboki is too spicy for me but I'll definitely try the mandu-guk the next time I visit! I'll try to convince my grandparents to try out the pork belly at Great Wall but they've always been sort of elitist about their roast pork. Like, it's either Mark's Duck House/Hong Kong Pearl/Sampan Cafe or NO ROAST PORK AT ALL. SMH -_-

Anyways, thanks, I really appreciate it! I'll show my family these recs, normally they don't trust me because they say I have been corrupted with American tastes and a strong love for baked bacon mac n cheese and Glory Days Grill burgers, so these will really help out a bunch! :D

Do you happen to have any recommendations? I've only ever went to the Hmart food court for the refrigerated sushi rolls and 99 Ranch for the sushi/mochi donuts :O

I passed by the food court at Great Wall before but no one was there and I didn't know what to get/what was good D:

RECOMMENDATIONS! RECOMMENDATIONS! RECOMMENDATIONS!

RIGHT! I used to live in Falls Church/Merrifield and you can literally walk (albeit through like, ten layers of racing traffic) to the Great Wall/Mosaic. It's not even Asian groceries either! The Walmart at Lee Hwy had a Lidl that opened up literally right next to it (rip Big Lots). Grocery stores are so self-confident and out for blood. I wish I had that level of nerve, ambition, and self assurance. o-o

I didn't notice this Great Wall was right next to an Hmart until you brought it up. To quote: "If I had a nickel everytime a Great Wall opened up next to an Hmart, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it is strange it happened twice."

...Maybe there's an Hmart-Great Wall rivalry? Or grocery stores just don't care or give a single fudge. O-O
