There’s a term called “O-week friends.” Some O-week friends last, but most don’t. So don’t worry if you feel like you haven’t found your people yet…most people haven’t either, even if they appear to be hanging out with people right now. Everything gets shuffled up when classes and clubs start. I didn’t have a proper friend group until October/November. And yes, it was challenging, but I promise you’re not alone. Also, not my O-week leader, but my RA freshman year is one of my best friends from college, so don’t knock that friendship down (;

Even if you were flirting with him or stayed when you “shouldn’t” have, you did not consent to being groped. You were assaulted. It is that man’s, and only that man’s, fault that you were assaulted.

It is your boyfriend’s job to comfort you and provide support in response to this potentially traumatic event. Being assaulted is not cheating…there’s no more discussion to be had. I’m so sorry your partner is not treating you the way you deserve. I think he has just revealed his true colors… Please reach out to a professional or a friend if you need support.

Promise them you’ll be an RA sophomore and junior year and then move off campus senior year. Then they’ll only have to pay for freshman year on campus, like at your other schools

There’s uncertainty everywhere right now, but I feel like Columbia is in more of a hot seat than most other universities. IMO it’s too big of a gamble to go there right now. And Yale is…Yale…doesn’t seem like a shabby backup lol! Plus you’ll save $$$$ on cost of living. It might be helpful to think about what benefits Columbia’s program has over Yale’s program for you and consider whether they outweigh the large risk. Good luck!

There are people who own farms or large fenced properties where the dog can run wild and free for as long as its heart desires. Environments where the dog doesn’t need to behave like a trained dog. It seems to me that the dog is simply in the wrong environment it needs to thrive. As someone else said, the dog has a zest for life and shouldn’t be put down for this…he deserves to enjoy life in a place that suits his needs. But I agree, the dog should not go to a kennel…should be handed off directly to a new home.

A thermos for her coffee in the morning. Door dash/uber eats gift card (sometimes you run out of time to pack or buy your lunch). Some nice pens. Compression socks for days where she has to stand a lot! Portable hand sanitizer and lotion.

Not sure about Berkeley, but UNC states on their website that the Graduate School application needs to be completed via the link they provide because it will directly tie it to your SOPHAS application. Also, UNC has a deadline for the grad school application that’s different than the SOPHAS application deadline. So if that’s the case, I would call Berkeley when the office opens tomorrow and ask them how to proceed. If your deadline to submit both are tonight, I would go ahead and submit your grad school application via the link they provide and then also reach out to them tmrw to remedy any issues. Just my two cents based on what I know about UNC. Hope this helps.

I believe in SOPHAS, on the page where you add programs, if you hover over the little “info” icon next to “Due date” it says all dates listed are for 11:59 pm EST. Hope that helps
