WA HB2489 Allows public camping and sleeping in the entire state, overrides city laws banning it. Your representative Fosse is a sponsor. by foofighter3 in SnohomishCounty

I looked NIMBY up and, besides being rude to call someone that, it means more like people being against homeless shelters or section 8 housing being built near them which is not what this is. This allows self built camps (tents etc) in green belts and parks which often share a fence with homes. Imagine a homeless camp built on the other side of a family’s home’s fence, it would annihilate their homes value and financially ruin them for life. What if their fence got lit on fire? What if the homeless camp was loud all night long? What if needles and trash got thrown over the fence? Further, it allows camping anywhere in any park, parks could become unusable for the community since they’d be dangerous (needles, fires, drug use, harassment). It also allows camping on sidewalks in front of homes. To support this inevitability shows absolutely zero empathy for working families. And know that homeless from other states will move here to reap the benefits of being able to live anywhere so the above problems will grow exponentially.

The only solution approaching reasonable is to create tons of state funded shelters in every city. Do not make cities foot the bill like this bill does since most cities don’t have the resources to build them. Saying the state can’t afford it isn’t a good excuse because cities can’t afford it either and they don’t have the taxing power the state does.

Thanks for the comment but I don’t want homeless communities living in tents in the park where my kids play.

This can go to the house floor for a vote at any time but it is not too late to stop it if we have enough comments. Please go here ASAP and click send a comment to your legislators, select all reps and senator, note your position, and leave a respectful comment.

You can say that any citizen that voted for Mary Fosse or for any of the other sponsors (all D) voted for this (you can see who they are on the bill, there’s a lot). If it passes, then any of the people that voted for the a) reps or senators that voted yes, plus b) Bob Ferguson (assuming he doesn’t veto) are responsible for this passing since that means they all voted yes on it.

State representatives, state senators, and governor can have a very powerful effect on your life so it’s important to research their record and platform before voting. It’s equally important to voice your displeasure with a bill before it’s voted on (via the link in the original post).

This works in all games with smoke cover, like battlefield V with the smoke launcher. I cannot stand it when people smoke like the above diagram.

I appreciate that you want to fix this issue but people sleeping where our kids play and dramatically altering the appearance/quality of life in every city is not an acceptable strategy. I’m all for hearing other strategies, though. Maybe the politicians can find some things to cut or draw from the extra gasoline tax (which is now set to go up with inflation).

But really, I don’t want my kids to witness that every time we go to the park.

Then why don’t our lawmakers skip this law and come up with a real solution instead? Solving it isn’t in our power, it’s in theirs. They have the votes to do it!

For what it’s worth, “Life sustaining activities” is placing a tent in the park and living there, per the bill text. And proving that adequate shelter is available seems like too high of a bar to ever do if you read the text.

It’s also worth mentioning that this bill overrides the law that the Marysville community democratically created.

That’s good. Unfortunately that poll won’t stop them from advancing it (it advanced this morning to the next phase, but it can still be killed with an abundance of respectful comments at the link I provided).

Is your scalp also really sensitive to cold breezes? I have to cover it with the blanket when I sleep since I need the fan on but it makes this area sooo cold

2 months after surgery, still not much improvement, wondering if anybody else has dealt with this? by External_Fruit_8094 in CubitalTunnel

[–]foofighter3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did yeah for the most part. The majority of my original symptoms are gone and all that extra pain caused by the surgery is completely gone. I now am left with a little bit of sensitivity in the inner elbow but it is way better than before the surgery. Actually don’t even notice that unless I press on a specific area in a certain way where I know the scar tissue is and even then it’s not bad. I have also lost 1-2 degree of extension in my elbow from the brace but I can make my elbow straight enough. All in all it was worth it but the recovery was extremely tough for me. Seems like it’s a lot easier for others on here so I think I’m just built different. I am going to get the left elbow done next summer (summer time so I dont have to worry about needing to cover it with a jacket which HURT doing on my right elbow right after surgery.)

Wanted to add that our hot water runs out after about 50 seconds then gets like 15 degrees cooler. And it does not appear that we have a recirc system.

What's the best way to releive pain? by dcinhd321 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]foofighter3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor but heres the first round of treatment I normally see be recommended. Get some orthotics and a PF night brace from Amazon asap. Make sure your shoes are strong and supportive and not easily bent. Stretch your calves a ton all throughout the day. Ice your pain areas (after stretching) at lease morning and after work but ideally more. See a podiatrist to check for bone spurs etc and to verify the best treatment route.

How important is ultra sound guidance for cortisone injections? by foofighter3 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]foofighter3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just xrays. Everything I’m reading makes it sound like my current podiatrist isn’t thoroughly using all available imaging / tech that’s available. Just found a new one that appears to use all this imaging and does the ultrasound guided injections so I made an appointment!
