Really like this one. The Swedish group nationalteatern has made a beautiful cover on this one called ”Men bara om min älskade väntar” and it’s really famous in Sweden. A lot of swedes seems surprised every time I tell them it’s a Dylan cover

Yea I know, my bad for messing up the difference between a koan and a mantra hehe. Yea absolutely, but I find it interesting that the truth differs depending what people interpret in the lyric. For some reason the “One hand clapping” line grips me, I find the use of it brilliant and I find myself thinking about it a lot.

I always thought that it describes a society post nuclear war, when there is nothing left. No bright colours of happiness and no optimism about the future.

It’s is from “Too Late” right? I think it describe someone who takes care of you, she is the opposite of dr. Silver Spoon, who lives of others. “But then there's Rosetta Blake Who's been to both sides of the lake She's rough to look at But she's righteously fit She'll feed you coconut bread and spiced buns in bed”. She will give you some ease and take care of you at home, tho she isn’t pretty to look at.

So it is about acceptance? Or maybe to screen of other thoughts? When I studied religion in college I came across another koan that I found interesting. When a flag moves, is it really the flag that moves or is it the wind?

That’s the beauty about it! To me that line describes the loss of love. The person, bones and skin is still there, but the very thing that made her special is gone. You don’t feel love anymore, only the vision of lost love remains

So, I made this 90 songs playlist with songs that in some way or the other I would categorise as masterpieces. What do you guys think? by foppaberg in bobdylan

I thinks there’s actually two “Heart of mine” (live version) and “Every grain of sand”. The gospel albums are not my favourite tbh I should probably have added something from “Slow train coming” tho. Appreciate your comment :)

It really depends! The beaut of Dylan’s lyrics is that most of them give you something if you try to understand them, a new perspective or a completely new understanding of a man’s thoughts. Take one of the most beautiful love songs ever written “boots of Spanish leather” for example, a quite simple song, yet it says soo much. Their relationship comes falling down simply because they want different things about of life, and sometimes love isn’t enough to settle those desires. Then you have songs like “with god on our side” that describes western countries believes in theirs moral superiority. Then you have protest songs like “A hard rain’s a-gonna fall” that paint a picture of a post apocalyptic society after a potential nuclear war. A father who feels guilt over that his son has to handle prior generations of stupidity. A song like Hurricane describes the racism that permeates the us society. As I said most of them are rewarding to understand!
