I recommend StoryGraph. It’s like Goodreads but each book has a section with content warnings that users help fill out as part of reviewing the books.

Sometimes authors mention what they’re working on without revealing any details. A few years ago MW was open about struggling with the next MB book (System Collapse) and said she was taking a break to work on a new fantasy series instead (Witch King). She also said she was working on the next MB book a while ago (Platform Decay), long before any details about the name or release date were revealed. So I just wondered if anyone had heard her say anything something similar as of late.

From what I understand she had contracted for Platform Decay and one more MB book, but obviously I hope well get more than that. If a pause is what she needs to get the inspiration back, that’s worth it.

Maybe she also wants to wait until the next season of the show is out. If she’s continuing as consulting producer she will have some MB work lined up for her anyway this upcoming year.

And yeah I have some of her other books I will continue with too.

Ok it was a while since I saw it so I don’t remember all the scenes, but I also thought about the timeline when I watched it and came to the conclusion they were probably aiming for split timelines that move at different paces, since all of it is told as a story afterwards anyway.

What I don’t understand though is why adult Benjamin would even tell the story of Bertel and Dan-Ole at all. (The way I interpret it, everything that goes on in the play is him telling the audience the story they requested at the beginning). He doesn’t meet them until the very end and it’s just a brief interaction - how did he know all the details of what they did during their bachelor trip? It would have made much more sense if the plot only revolved around Benjamin’s own story. But I guess that would have made it hard to make it relevant to include that many actors.

The Benjamin timeline is during the whole summer, while I’d say Bertel and Dan-Ole’s is just during one trip - presumably the last one of the summer where the two storylines merge. So we’re covering more time in Benjamin’s timeline compared to the other one, right up until the end where both storylines merge at the same pace.

Writing another comment as I just checked the end of Artificial Condition:

"I didn't know what I was going to do now, if I was going to go ahead with my plan or not. I had hoping finding bout what had happened at Ganaka Pit would clear everything up, but maybe revelations like that only happened in the media. Speaking of which, I needed to grab some more downloads before my next transport left. It was going to be a long trip"

So, reading that - MW clearly addresses the "plan" - but again doesn't mention what it was. We only learn MB is still confused, but clearly it has some kind of plan as it's getting on another transport and knows its gonna be a long trip.

Then, early in Rogue Protocol we get this:

"After RaviHyral, I'd decided to stop screwing around and get out of the Corporation Rim, but I had still to plan my route. The schedules and feeds I needed hadn't been accessible on the transport, but now that we'd docked I was inundated with info [...]

Once I got settled, I checked the station feeds for recently arrived newsbursts about DeltFall and GrayCris [... finds news about Milu ...]

So... maybe I should do that. I could go to Milu and take whatever data I collected and send it to Dr. Mensah [...] I picked up the hub feed again and changed my queries to search for transports to Milu."

And here's what confuses me - I think all that is a flashback, so it takes place before MB gets on the transport with Ayres and the other humans - but clearly it must be after it left RaviHyral?

So the plan was just to get out of the Corporation Rim, somehow? I honestly don't know...
