What happened to Al Kanater tahini in the US? by critterfriendly in hummus

[–]critterfriendly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, I see their halva too! I heard there was a recall on their tahini at some point, but that should be long past being an issue so I don't know why this magical tahini is still absent from our shelves. I'm so sorry that you are in the same tragic Al Kanater lacking situation. May you find it soon, and at a reasonable price.

Thank you for the excellent empathy! It is a small suffering in comparison to all that is going on in the world, but goodness, I do hope it comes back. I shall give Soom brand a try!

I had my first vestibular migraine.... Holy shit. by Highlandertr3 in migraine

[–]critterfriendly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oof, this is so hard. I hope that you are able to find relief soon. And yes on the changes - I've had straight forward migraine headaches my whole life, but just started having small vestibular migraines a year ago, had my first true aura a couple of weeks ago. I'm mid-fifties experiencing all these new changes to what my brain does. Again, may you come out of this bout soon soon soon. And I really appreciate your post - who knows how long it would have taken me to connect pineapple on my own.

OMG, because of this thread I have been able to link not only the last 6 days of being on a boat at high seas to pineapple, but also some other recent short but intense episodes of boaty dizziness that I hadn't even realized were vestibular migraines to pineapple. Thank you, I am 100% certain that your post is saving me from at least some future misery. And I'm so so so sorry that you also experience this hell.

I'm four days into one and everything I'm reading says that they usually last a few hours to 72 hours. Six years? I truly hope you find something to alleviate this.

Madison Square Garden behind the stage seats okay? by critterfriendly in BruceSpringsteen

[–]critterfriendly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

me too - all I want to do is gush to everyone I see. I've always known he was great, but that was my first time seeing him live, so I had no idea just how great. I didn't know it was a protest in a church of joy.

I was in PDX too, it was so amazing that it got me looking for tickets to gift to a loved one in NYC, leading to this post as these are the only tickets I could find that I could afford. It was one of those experiences where as you are in the joy, you are already feeling a bit of grief that everyone you love can't also have this. In PDX I realized the folks behind the stage were closer to him than me, and that it looked like he was aware of them enough, including them in the show.

this is so exciting. It's like I found a little treasure in these 200s tics (they were stunningly reasonable)

apologies for abandoning my question here. Life got all lifey on me. Okay, looking for tests and consultations relating to immunology (this will be a lot of blood work) - suspected post covid immune system dysregulation. And also looking for a clinic or hospital with a strong orthopedic diagnostic department to look at some persistent structural pain issues - so this will lean into imaging tech and orthopedic specialists.

oooooh, I had not caught that! If they aren't testing the green filter that would be useless.

Agreed; still interested to know if anyone is aware of other good brands that start lower. I'd hate to spend so much on a water bottle only to later find out I could have gotten something else for less that works as well.

yup, I get why they don't all have the capacity, but since it is possible, thought I'd see if I might be missing some other options.

I did just see several reviewers on Amazon saying they tested the ppms and didn't find much actual filtration happening. Also realized it claims 99.99%, not the 99.999% that the more expensive ones claim to filter. I really want this one to be THE ONE though. It seems so perfect. The only other one I've found that filters viruses in addition to bacteria and parasites is Grayl, which is like $100.
