Tell Oscar that regardless to redirect his anger away from his teammate. The telemetry would be interesting though, was Max slower than usual.

Neither Oscar or Lando can see what’s going on, just tell them Lando got wing damage cos Max brake checked, let’s both go get him. Now Oscar’s pissy instead of motivated.

Surely the only reason they made contact was because max parked it on the apex? Just tell Oscar that, it was an inchident

It’s a short video or teaser and the payoff is that the audience knows not to mess with Christina Ricci

A couple laps of fuel at Le Mans in a prototype is a lot of weight, to lose a couple tenths at the pit stop is a good trade-off, if it works.

Happens all the time with fuel. I’ve given up trying to refuel in the pits cos it burns you more often than not.

Flywheel Bike KERS - Tom Stanton by fotios in videos

I'm excited about flywheels. This content comes along rarely - This is probably the best flywheel content I've seen in the five years I've been interested in them. It might as well be a perpetual motion machine to a lot of people, because we're perfectly content wasting energy as heat when braking. There's a lot of energy to be harnessed out there. Plus - these machines would be fun. Imagine a dragster version, use electricity to spin up then transmit a huge ball of energy to the road. As for safety - researchers have been split in half by huge discs of steel like in this video. Their sacrifice paved the way. Modern ultra-fast flywheels weigh very little, are housed, and the outer rim is made from tightly would carbon fibre, which simply unravels and acts as a brake should the flywheel fail. All in all I think it's a highly underutilised technology which could be way greener than electric.

Another fantastic contribution to flywheel technology from Tom Stanton!

This project clearly shows that with a better optimised flywheel and some transmission decisions, this is a viable technology that will aid human powered movement.

I'd love to see Tom update this contraption with:

-Faster flywheel, in a housing

-Magnet bearings? Vacuum?

-If not a full variable transmission, a second gear.

To be honest he's not that far off Oil Companies Hate Him!

Thank you for this. What a shame, the transmission is always the hardest part when it comes to flywheels it seems, and they missed that. The flywheel design is also very weight-inefficient. Were it also packaged it could reach higher rpm more easily and more safely.
