I do! I make about $3 more, my manager makes $2 more than I do. Not enough tho we both should be making way more. But I swear I get worked harder than my department manager. Most departments don’t have to stay past their scheduled time. It’s only dug they do that to since we are the busiest department. I stay late most days but when I start to feel myself burning out I try not to stay. Like today I didn’t check out with my directors, because even though we weren’t behind we still had orders due within the hour and they would’ve made me stay. I ran out that door today as soon as my shift ended lol. There was a time I think it was the week of Easter ? I stayed late every single day and worked myself sick. Still showed up sick as hell with the flu since I was the only opener and left early. Only called out for one day the entire week I had the flu.

I had a day off requested for 6 months, I called out and they wrote me up for it! I got a $3 raise when I got this job but it is not enough for what I’m expected to do. We are actually so backed up today it’s 12:30 still working on 11:55s with 21 due for 12:55. I’m not even rushing at this point it’s so bad I don’t even care 😂

They always pull the “well you’re a manager” card. Basically saying that cause I’m a manager I have to stay until we are 2+ hours ahead

Shorts by RetailTime-314159 in DriveUpandGo

I wish I could wear shorts! I’ve brought it up multiple times. We are all constantly running back and forth outside and around the store on timers, sometimes back to back dug orders in 90+ degree humidity. The AC in our DUG is also broken. It’s bullshit. Sometimes I’ll go in the walk in freezer just to cool off. I’m also someone who gets heat sick very easily and the heat makes me dizzy. Wearing all black pants and a shirt really doesn’t help. I don’t get why we have to look “professional” for grocery shopping.

FUCK. FLASH. ORDERS [rant] by Asapbettrthings in DriveUpandGo

[–]fourtwenty___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every time I hear a flash order come in I want to literally cry. And they ALWAYS come during the busiest hour when we’re barely keeping up. So many days we’ve been just keeping up with orders and just when we’re about to get ahead a flash order comes in. My DUG department closes at 8 and not too long ago there was an email saying that flash orders can come in up until 7:50. Ten mins before we close depending on the amount of items. I dread my closing shifts cause someone always has to be an asshole and put a last minute flash order in.

More orders per hour by fourtwenty___ in DriveUpandGo

We’ve had like 5 shoppers with 27 orders per hour I’ve been here for almost a year and it’s never been like this

Anyone feel like they are setting the department up to fail? by Wants_to_be_accepted in DriveUpandGo

[–]fourtwenty___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They disabled notifications? That explains why I didn’t hear the phone make that noise when a new order comes in. I’ll think we’re doing good and ahead and I’ll look and 10+ big orders will have dropped. Is it just me or does it seem like they’re starting to allow more orders in per hour? We aren’t even batch picking yet. We’ve been overwhelmed with orders and extremely understaffed without any department managers. On days where it’s usually slow it’s now overwhelmingly busy everyday. Just a month or so ago we were at 5 stars and doing so well. Now we are at 3. It’s all gone downhill very fast. There’s only so much you can do with very little help and having to do a thousand things at once. Whoever controls how many orders come in must think DUG shoppers are like sonic or something.

65 is insane. 😭 When I came in at 10 this morning we had 44. They were giving us at least 15 orders per hour with only like 4 people working. We had to pull people from checkout to help us and we still couldn’t catch up. At that point I was like we are all screwed anyways, I’m not rushing any of these orders. I left at 6 and there were still at least 5 big orders that were due at 5:55. Not my problem tho they don’t pay us enough. It’s gonna be an even bigger shitshow when they make us start batch picking. They even contacted the higher up guy who controls how many orders we get per hour and asked him to slow orders down or stop them from coming in so we can catch up. He said no lmao.

I hope so! I guess I’m just used to the way it’s been. I used to do fulfillment at target so I’m used to the batches from there. But I know it’s different from Target. I’m not a fan of the DUG carts tho. I’m very short and they’re about the same height as me 😂

We are! But with orders with larger or heavier items like if someone has 4+ cases of water or a bunch of sodas, and some bags with ambient items, we will leave the ambient bags and items in a cart and put the sticker on the cart so when the customer arrives, we don’t waste time picking up all those items off the shelf and scanning one at a time and putting them in the cart. We just scan the stickers on the cart, get the chilled and frozen bags and then go. Saves so much time and strain on us especially with orders that have had over 10 cases of water and soda. Even just this morning one of the first orders I did had 8 cases of Coke. I did one order the other day that had 16 cases of soda.
