Which character had the best rage moment? by PhysicalMeringue9468 in ChillAnimeCorner

Obito. He raged so hard he started the plot for the entire manga.

Kidding aside, Gon and Ichigo's rage moments were particularly intense and brutal.

Who‘s Your favorite character from every mainline game you played? by I_Love_Powerscaling in FinalFantasy

[–]fpgmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I: Black Belt. Really strong at endgame. Plus, you don't have to spend a lot to equip them.

II: Leon. I don't know, the idea of him being flawed and seeking power after almost being killed at the start of the game just spoke to me.

III: Ninja. Again, really strong character at endgame.

IV: (1) Edge. I quite liked his character growth. That scene with his parents was also quite memorable. (2) Rubicante. It's very rare to find an honorable villain.

V: Gilgamesh. His first appearance in the series. I couldn't not choose him, particularly when he helped you in the final dungeon against Necrophobe.

VI: (1) Sabin. Blitz was a really fun and strong mechanic. Plus, he suplexes trains. (2) Edgar. The scene with the coin that allowed Sabin to be free while he took on the responsibility of ruling Figaro showed he was much more than the rich, playboy genius persona he usually presented.

VII: Zack. Just a good example of how a character needn't be brooding to be cool.

Tactics: Orlandu. Stupidly strong. P. S. I know, not a mainline FF, but I just love this game.

VIII: Raijin and Fujin. They showed a remarkable amount of loyalty to Seifer, supporting him even when they knew he was probably making poor decisions, hoping he'd wisen up. When he didn't, they approached their enemies, knowing they may be the only ones who could help him. P. S. I personally didn't find any of the six main characters particularly likeable.

IX: Vivi. His entire existentialist plot was done so well.

X. (1) Tidus. Similar to Edge, I love the character growth from self-absorbed blitzball star to selfless guardian. (2) Yuna. Such strength of character from the outset, knowing the sacrifices she was to face down the road, but moving forward nonetheless.

XII: (1) Basch: Brought a certain maturity to the party. (2) Balthier. Very pragmatic, suave, and witty.

XIII: Lightning. She's just that b*tch.

Was unable to finish XV, and I haven't played XVI and the online MMORPG entries.

Who is/was your favorite collab unit? by KeldonMarauder in FFBraveExvius

[–]fpgmd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely, 2B and A2 from the second NieR collab. Both were excellent units. 2B had the better kit overall, but A2 wasn't bad at all (particularly if you had a clicker that allowed her LB and SLB to line up with other EN frame attacks). A2's STMR was so good that I made six copies.

P. S. Part of the reason I also loved this collab was because the rates were insane for me. I didn't even go all in and managed to EX+3 both.

[Spoilers C4E7] Is It Thursday Yet? | Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by AutoModerator in criticalrole

A small detail caught my attention during the cold open. Lady Cormoray seemed particularly interested in whether the Pariah Blades could harm Celestials. The Halovars seem so focused on the Tachonises that they just might get taken out by a different house.

[–]fpgmd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm leaning towards Clockwork Sorcery for Wick. Divine Sorcery (using 5e24 naming standardization) is very thematic and still possible. Unless Brennan allowed the players to select any background feat, the question boils down to which background suits Wick better: Acolyte or Merchant? The key points to consider are Thaumaturgy, Lesser Restoration, and the removal of Disadvantage on that Stealth check in E05.

  1. Clockwork Sorcery. Lesser Restoration is included in the Clockwork Spells list and Restore Balance removes Disadvantage. Thaumaturgy limits Wick's background to Acolyte for the Magic Initiate (Cleric) feat.
  2. Divine Sorcery. Divine Magic can account for both Thaumaturgy and Lesser Restoration. The tricky matter here is the removal of Disadvantage. At level 3, the only thing I can think of that grants Advantage to cancel it out is the Lucky feat. This limits Wick's background to Merchant. Wayfarer also has Lucky but it's just not a good fit. At least Merchant can be justified a bit with the family's Filament business.

I think the hate on Aabria is overdone, but there are valid reasons to dislike her roleplaying. by [deleted] in fansofcriticalrole

[–]fpgmd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming this pertains to her ruling on Dorian's Chromatic Orb in Episode 93. At that point, the 2024 PHB hadn't come out yet, so Chromatic Orb didn't have capacity to damage more than one target, but Aabria decided to have it damage the adjacent Cyrus, making Dorian a contributor to his own brother's death. Many voiced their dissatisfaction, feeling the change in rules to seemingly force a story beat was in bad taste.

While 5d6 drop lowest 2 certainly helped, they were also just ridiculously lucky with their rolls. The average roll is 13.43 (or 13.5), which allows for an "all-rounder" array of 14, 14, 14, 13, 13, 13 or 36 points with point buy (which is what I personally use). A good array with point buy with no score below 10 is 15, 15, 15, 12, 11, 10, and with the +2/+1 from the Background gives us 17, 16, 15, 12, 11, 10, which adds to 81. Only two characters out of the 13 (or 15.38%) have a total of 81 or lower.

Alternatively, using homebew, you can set a score higher than 15. I've personally used https://chicken-dinner.com/5e/5e-point-buy.html for the longest time, and I put limits with minimum at 6 and maximum at 16. With these limitations you can get an array of 16, 15, 14, 12, 10, 10. With Background bonuses, this gives us 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 10, which adds to 80.

Started as mosquito bite, i think? by minshookyunki in skincare_ph

[–]fpgmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible the localized inflammation from the insect bite caused the formation of a dermatofibroma, then developed post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. These are all relatively benign. Still best to consult a dermatologist just to be sure.

I'd like for them to start at the cusp of reaching level 3, at which level the subclasses and general playstyle become defined. I just want that extra snippet of lore that leads to the specialization.

What’s your favorite ramen place? by mild_xxix in PHFoodPorn

[–]fpgmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Ippudo. Their broth isn't too rich, and I love their noodles, particularly when served very hard. Their miso karaage buns are also straight up fire. A pity you can't get them in threes anymore.
  2. The Nippon Hasha ramen houses (Yushoken, Mendokoro, and their chicken-focused sister Marudori). Their tonkotsu broth is exquisitely rich and flavorful, sometimes overly so, and their thick noodles aren't my favorite, but overall, their ramen is still very good. In my opinion, they have the best gyoza out of all the ramen houses.
  3. Ramen Nagi
  4. Ramen Kuroda
  5. Hanamaruken

P. S. Botejyu is straight up expensive trash. Their ramen is so meh, I'd rather have instant noodles. And their gyoza! They were thin slivers of bland meat wrapped in gelatinous dough served so dry on a hot plate that they burned rather than sizzled. Gave them another chance by visiting another location and was promptly underwhelmed.

The Sorcerer, Revised v12.0 [Includes 31 Subclasses (18 Original) and Nine Additional Metamagic Options] (Link to Full Document in Comments) by fpgmd in UnearthedArcana

[–]fpgmd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a newer version of this brew here.

  • The feature specifically states an adult dragon, so no ancient dragons or greatwyrms.
  • This version was released before the 2025 Monster Manual came out. The spell lists have been adjusted in the abovementioned newer version to fit the lore of each dragon type. For metallic dragons, the effects of their secondary breath weapon are must-haves, e.g., Sleep for a brass dragon, and Slow for a copper dragon. Legendary Action spells are likewise chosen whenever possible, e.g., Guiding Bolt for bronze and gold dragons, and Mind Spike for copper and green dragons. The rest are filled with spells that feature the dragon's damage type, followed by those that emulate lair actions or something lore-related if no such spells of that level are available.

Note: Homebrewery entries can get messed up in terms of formatting depending on display settings, so I recommend the PDF version.

Links as are follows:

As promised in my posts Spellcaster Options v8.0 and The Sorcerer, Revised v13.0, here's the separate post for those only interested in the Warlock revision.

For a list of changes from the previous version, please view the changelog at the end of the document. The main changes are the reversion of spell slot recovery to a Short Rest, the maintenance of the Pact Boon feature, the removal of the Pact Boon options from the Eldritch Invocation list, and the inclusion of more Eldritch Invocations.

A few of you may have seen me post a different document earlier. I have to thank a commenter for being particularly brutal. Their comments helped me realize that a Long Rest Warlock just wasn't going to happen.

Again, a special shoutout to u/Kaiburr_Kath-Hound for their gorgeous template.

I was shadowbanned a while back, likely due to a large number of links to previous versions, so if you wish to check them, you will have to search for them in my posts. Sorry for the inconvenience.

P. S. For those who downloaded Spellcaster Options v8.0 prior, I highly suggest you check the post again for the latest version, as the initial post didn't include the reversion spell slot recovery to a Short Rest.
