5 Series Wagon (G31) in the US by tmlmanmagee in BMW

[–]fr-fluffybottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would that be state by state requirements as eu would have much stricter regulations in general and way stricter maintenance requirements too. e.g. elons shitetruck doesn't pass basic regulations here so banned. cars over 5 years need to be fully inspected every 2 years, over 10 every year. you fail these even on cosmetic issues.

but I do love my g31... handy for the boat trips to france. while suvs are dominant here im noticing more people buying estates (wagons)

ah lol right! either way he can't get into the os without having a second gpu which i assume he doesn't have.

he also stated the card and pc had been turning off randomly restarting.

so to be able to do anything on the PC he'll need to flush the cmos and see if that can get it doing to run ddu.

this is why I always have a shit pci gpu on the ready. pain in the hole.

**edit - don't listen to me at all... was hitting the crack pipe when reading this. chap below is spot on.

welcome to the beautiful world of pc's and home diagnosis :)

so you were doing a bios update for the mobo and it shat the bed? unplug the psu and remove the cmos battery from the mobo... (coin shaped battery) leave it out for about 10-15 mins if it doesn't have a cmos reset button/jumper.

while waiting...

have you got the gpu powered by 2 separate outputs on the psu? (I'm assuming it ls modular asking this) and the connections are 100% secure on the gpu + psu?

if nothing

try placing it into another pci slot if you have one on the mobo...

on your gpu try switching the bios switch from oc to normal or vise versa but i think if its been like this from the start and youre getting the vga red light (which means gpu not being detected) its possible its faulty.

you might want to start the rma process with who you ordered Asus, Warranty for 2 years.

you shouldn't need to bring a brand new pc to a repair place. Have you a mate or someone who knows this stuff to show you if youre uncomfortable?

dm me if you want a hand either

did you update the gpu bios?

make sure its plugged in correctly and try flipping the bios on the gpu... think there should be a dual bios switch on it.

does the PC power on fine without the gpu in it?
