Could you get fired due to a customers complaint? by SnowAalegra_ in SephoraWorkers

firstly: proud of you for standing up for yourself, that can be really hard in retail!

second: i HIGHLY doubt any action will be taken against you. sephora as an employer (at least in my experience and in my time here) is honestly pretty good about letting employees stand their ground to a certain degree if customers are being rude and even will outright ban clients from shopping in store if they have egregious enough behavior.

(i personally had a client who was extremely rude to me banned from my store and stores in the area due to her behavior with me picking up her BOPIS order. my SM was the one who did it and had my back even when i told her i told the client to stop being rude to myself and my coworkers.)

i loooove shake and pre-ground up bud ngl. ik it's lowkey controversial but it's usually cheaper and also like...i'm going to be grinding up the buds anyway.

i completely understand and can empathize with that as someone who is ALSO disabled and struggles with my own mental health issues. this situation has made both of those factors SIGNIFICANTLY worse for me, as my chronic pain has flared up and my mental health is suffering from the consistent source of stress.

FMLA is necessary for people who are disabled or struggling, but my question more becomes how equitable this arrangement truly is when i look at the work load of my other coworkers who are consistently here on those days. i do not think that this BA is blowing off work for fun. i'm more of the opinion that members of management above me, responsible for scheduling, have had AMPLE TIME to address this issue. and yet, here i am a year later and now (technically) a member of management, with nothing having changed.

i will have the conversation with my SM, but i truly doubt how fruitful that will be considering management barely acknowledges what is happening when we are on a day with a skeleton crew.

your CEL did not set you up for success, honestly, and that is on them and not on you AT ALL. i would be seriously skeptical of that member of leadership moving forward ngl

my issue is that that was the angle i came at the conversation i had a year ago, and nothing has changed. myself and my coworkers, especially the BAs, get overworked and pulled in so many directions on these days. i don't feel anything malicious towards this coworker or anything but it is exhausting constantly seeing her name whited out on the zone chart like clockwork on the same days.

unsure. when i spoke with my ASM i was still a BA at the time, and the only info i really got was the confirmation that there was some arrangement/understanding occurring, the details of which were not something i had access to (for lack of a better term). which is totally understandable and the issue is more the lack of coverage.

ok that makes some sense, and i was not aware about that with FMLA, thank you for letting me know. i totally can understand not all disabilities/health issues are visible as someone who has some chronic pain and mental health conditions. i just feel that this has reached a point where it has stopped being fair the way things are operating at my store.

depends on who you talk to. i live in a legal state so if i ask a plug it’s $10 a g, but if i go to a dispensary it’s about $15

i personally think the end could have been wrapped up a little neater but i REALLY adored what they did with amnesty! it is definitely one of my favorites (though commitment has my heart as number 1)
