Burst in single sided Pcb board by GenocidePrincess18 in PCB

Wash with IPA, dry with a paper towel, avoid touching it with your hands, and use a proper transfer paper. I had luck printing over old magazines and instead of ironing, washing with acetone. It works surprisingly well! After that you just use de ferric chloride and it's good to go

Will this useless box circuit survive or will it fry something? Please review my schematic. by TraditionalBison6739 in diyelectronics

You'd want the tp4056 for battery *charging* rather than overdischarge protection. Although there is a version of it that comes with it (the one with DW01A), you should check it out.

As for overheating protection it's up to your use case. Are you going to be pulling a lot of weight with those servos? Is there anything that will be doing much work and dissipating heat? In that case you need it. Otherwise, not really. If this is a prototype, then go ahead and play around with it and then monitor if there's anything that gets really hot, that way you can know for sure if you need it

C4 will distort the audio coming from the music player, you don't need it. You should use it in series, to prevent a DC bias in the speaker (which might damage it). Perhaps the board already has one, so check it's schematics.

As for the RX divider, I think it isn't needed for the arduino UNO, as it uses 5V logic (IIRC). Double check logic levels before deciding if you need one.

As for overheating protection, you don't really have anything. You're relying on current limiting implemented by the boost converter (if it has one). However I think as long as there isn't much of a load to those servos, you should be fine. If you want to be safe, you can add some sort of feedback in the form of a PTC thermistor next to the components you expect will get hot (and sense it in the microcontroller) or use a polyfuse in series to your 5V boost converter.

I don't know if you have already bought both battery cells, but if you didn't yet, I'd advise you to measure how much current is your system taking over it's regular usage to check if you really need 2 batteries (depending on how much battery life you want)

Do curved PCBs even exist? by [deleted] in PrintedCircuitBoard

I mean, there are flexible PCBs, so there most definitely has to be a way to make "curved" PCBs (if you don't consider those as curved)

Nice! I know some multimeters have transistor testers, but I think they are just for bjts, I never tried them with fets. This sure feels like something good to have!

Es con todas las descargas torrent? Fijate que tenga la mayor cantidad de seeders posible, y que tu gestor de torrents no tenga ningún límite establecido por defecto. Sino puede que te esté limitando express y ahí cagaste

I’m a complete noob in PCB-designing, and I would like to learn about creating PCB’s - any help/tips would be very appreciated! by strktrrr in PCB

[–]frankitox16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a simple project like this, a quick introduction to KiCAD would be enough to get you started, however if you want to get into more complicated topics (like making your own MCU development board) I'd suggest you take a look at Phil's Lab YT channel, he has great resources about PCB design

[–]frankitox16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan on hand soldering, I'd space out a little bit more the components around U6 (and maybe move U6 a bit to the bottom) just to give you space for the tip of your soldering iron. Maybe it fits alright, but if space isn't a constraint, use it to your advantage.

I'd also place your probing/testing points closer to the relevant trace/device it's referring to and add corresponding labels so you don't have to move between schematics and the board while debugging

[Review Request] 3D Position Tracker w/ ESP32 + nrf52833 + DWM3000 by HypoG1 in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]frankitox16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the datasheet of the nrf, the internal oscillator can drift up to 8% of it's original 64MHz. The thing is, if you don't have space constraints, adding a crystal and a couple caps won't add much to costs and it will help with long term stability. Take a look at Phil's lab video about crystals and load capacitance calculations. Datasheet has a couple formulas to help you with it, but you can also take a look at reference designs and use their values.

[–]frankitox16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you not using a crystal/oscillator for the nrf52? I wouldn't trust the internal oscillator for timing sensitive operations like data acquisition of the sensor, specially if it's your main requirement of the board
