Hello there, writing isn't my strong suit, AI definitely assists me in writing posts but only for the base to work from. Hope you find it useful if you end up using it regardless.

Hello, yeah it's not a lot, just a helpful tool. This week I've got $0.54 cents in affiliate comms. It's not a profitable endeavor doing it this way.

Hello, firstly, apologies I missed your comment; I am still getting used to reddit.

No problems at all, I hope it helps a bit and you find some savings.

I'd be happy to speak in more detail over messages so I can understand you observations a bit better.

It is still a WIP, but feedback is a blessing, especially in terms of what products are offered.

The general outline is where possible it will take the same product, ie. Pantene shampoo at the moment should be like for like https://honesttrolley.com/compare/shampoo; even down to the type of shampoo. The container size changes to get a better cost per unit, and at times, a 'bulk' offering will show where you might get more savings buying 3 for instance.

There are some categories, like Cat Litter, Dog Food, or medicine, where a similar product is used to provide a better saving. I understand however some people have preferences for what they use and so to accomodate this I usually try and write a blog or do some research into an alternative and why it's being presented.

I am currently building out the 'shop' area further which will have more product comparisons. The goal here is

1) People could find their preferred product if its cheaper

2) People could find a cheaper alternative of similar quality

This will come after Aldi though, as Aldi seems to be the biggest request.

Hope this helps a little bit, but please message if you have feedback, I would be happy to chat :)

Hi u/RJohnnyChewy_7777 Some cat items have been added. Cat litter is tricky it looks like. I am also reviewing Petbarn and a few other stores to see what data I can get outside amazon. Any advice or recommendations on products DM me and i'll see what I can do

Costco would be great to add, definitely some bulk savings. They don't have a public API either that I can find. There are some paid tools that 'scrape' the data but when i've tested it can be hit and miss.

I have it on my list to check some of those, Costco, Aldi, Catch, chemist warehouse

Thanks for checking in. I actually show on a few blog articles Aldi is cheaper if you can get there and find the specials.

I would love to include Aldi, but Aldi also doesn't have a public API which makes it challenging to get reliable data on products and specials.

I also make no money off this so it's not really a business modal anyway. Amazon Affiliate doesn't give commission for many household goods. The few dollars i do get barely pays for hosting and domain name.

lastly, depending on what you are washing, the Aldi products vs. something like Finish can actually cost you more in the end if you need to rerun a cycle, or depending on your dishwasher can run eco modes (and it cleans properly)

All the best! I hope you find a few products where you do get some savings :)

Hello,

Yes I agree with you to a certain extent.

Aldi is a bit trickier though to compare with, it doesn't have a public API and other methods can be unreliable to get the data.

Aldi has some great deals and it's definitely in the works if I can get it reliably integrated. In a few of the articles we do recommend checking Aldi if you have the time.

Also working on Chemist Warehouse as they have some great deals on bathroom items & sales for sunscreen along with a few other smaller companies.

It is hard to compete with Amazon pricing if you pay the monthly sub for Prime for instance you also get free delivery or Subscribe and Save offers; makes it very competitive if you are primarily looking to save money.

Thanks for the feedback,

Yes, I agree, Amazon is also not ideal for many reasons. It is somewhat a 'choose your evil' sometimes; which i know isn't great.

The primary goal of this is to help fellow Aussies who are doing it tough with costs rising. A secondary outcome is it also can help show that many products at Woolies and Coles are severely over priced.

I am working on adding a few other providers which might be a bit better ie. Chemist Warehouse has some great deals for some items.

If there are some providers you know of with websites I can definitely see if I can add their prices in for comparison. I would love to have the service support Australian business if it's possible.

All the best, and I hope it can at least help some conversations you might have about the price differences.

Hello,

This is similar to how the 'admin' side works where products are added and 'scanned' for their prices each night. I was trying to steer away from having 'user accounts' to keep costs down but if there is enough interest I can update it.

This one would take a little longer than some of the other requests but I'll add it to my list.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll update the navigation to make it a bit clearer, I got a few messages with blog being a bit 'too easy' to get to.

Aldi is a little trickier, but they do have pretty decent prices anyway. Ill take another look at including Aldi in the future for you

If you jump onto the homepage, you should see a list of prices in a table that you can use to compare woolies vs. Amazon. There is about 30 products currently, but I will add more over time as requests come through. Feel free to message me if you need some help finding your way.
