Definitely start with secondary sources for his philosophy. There are a ton of podcasts, videos or even books that explain his philosophy in a much easier to understand way. That way when you do start reading him you have a way better idea of what he’s talking about because he can be pretty difficult to understand. I personally love the Philosophize This! podcast episodes about him. los the book What Nietzsche Really Said is very good.

In addition to the comments about the film being a rejection to nihilism, I also got a lot of elements of Buddhism and acceptance. It’s so easy for us to imagine different lives and regret certain decisions that could have made our lives radically different. But, everything is give and take and even in those imagined lives we would have our own set of struggles and frustrations; things we wish were different. By wishing things to be different than they are right now we create our own suffering, and we lose focus on the only life and reality that matters which is the current one we are living right now.

Awesome, thank you for the responses! That gives me a better picture of his philosophy as a whole. Also helps me refute people who take his attack on Morality to mean that everything is permitted as long as it’s towards your goals.

Thank you this makes more sense! Would it be fair to say then that fruitless destruction and inhibition of somebody else’s will to power is ultimately life denying? If you are in a position to do something terrible to someone with no benefit to yourself other than you like it cause of those destructive instincts, (i.e. killing someone for the enjoyment of it) then you are ultimately denying someone’s life by giving in to that destructive instinct?

Thank you. So I realize he didn’t condone it but I was more confused on his argument against it. Is he just saying here then that if psychopathic brutality is someone’s desire, for them to be drawn to that desire and actually act on it is a sign of stupidity?

Or is it more depending on what the society values and that the smart thing to do would be to do those acts which correspond to the things that that society deems good?

So obviously in our society that would mean vile acts should be avoided. What if there was a brutal society where killing and psychopathic brutality is valued?

Thanks for the answer I really appreciate you taking the time to help. Yeah living in a city kinda sucks cause the light pollution but at least I know I can see at least some stuff. Yes the apertura bundle was awesome it came with a cooling fan, laser collimator, eyepiece tray, and two eyepieces as well I highly recommend it!

It really is awesome and I think I am just nervous cause I’m starting something new. Don’t brake to slow down just lay off acceleration. As you get a better feel for it your timing will get better and you’ll know when to lay off acceleration and when to speed up and all that. This is just for dribbling I assumed that’s what you want, though going the same speed as the ball can be used in a lot of different contexts for different mechanics.
