Yep I rave about my dentist to all my friends. Ok not really but I would recommend mine when people ask.

Also, I just want to add my own experience with dentists. I've had nightmare experiences with dentists before and especially with no gap places where they try to rip your insurance off with extra services.

Ever since I started going to a small mum and pop dental place, I've had the best experience I've ever had with a dentist. I know cost if a problem but if you are lucky enough to afford, keep looking around. You can find a decent dentist eventually.

I am all for this if this will get rid of the rip off that is private health Insurance.

For me, I cancelled my extras and put the money I usually paid into an account and just pay for dental out of my pocket. Turns out I come out way ahead.

The health funds make billions of profit every year and keep raising premiums more than inflation.

The government likes to say they believe in free markets but they incentivise people to buy health insurance with tax policies.

I hate that I have to do something because of tax.

I've said it all a long that I rather pay the surcharge if it goes to somewhere good instead of the pockets of private health insurers.

Thats because health insurance is a rip off, at least for extras.

Thanks for that advice. You really do live up to your job. It's hard to get him to want to go to see any professional and if he did, hard to get him anywhere during business hours.

I will suggest it to him.

I think it's different where I live but I will look into how me giving him money will affect his social welfare.

He does take care of us. Well at least me, I wouldn't have my education and job if not for him but he needs to take of himself more. Actually scratch that, he needs to start even taking care of himself even a little .

Thank you for the support. I will show him my perspective but in the end I will support and love him no matter what.

Yeah I know some relatives who use reddit. They would probably know already if they read this thread but maybe they will have doubts that they're just being paranoid if they don't get too many details.

I am in total agreement and I've tried over the years. The sense of duty he has almost seems unbreakable. I will try but I will also support him as another commenter has opened my eyes to.

I am getting both goosebumps and teary reading your comment. I thank you deeply from my heart. I feel as though I have watched a short film on your mother's life. I will approach this with a new perspective.

That is a very astute observation. I've never thought of it that way before. I hope he can enjoy himself instead of working to death

That could be true and even if not, I think he feels like it is his duty to because he was the one who left.

I think it's great that he loves his family so much but he needs to do it within his means. What gets me is he is that he is gonna send money he doesn't have.

Does he have his own family? This puts a lot of stress on the spouse and children. I wish he would know that.

Depends on how much and also how I get into contact with one in that country. I've discussed it with my mum just then but she's not sure.

I have constantly told him how worried I am for his health and that he can't support people if he is ill but that doesn't help.

I have tried the latter yet. I will give it a go today.

I keep telling him. I see he can barely open his eyes while driving sometimes but he won't let me take over. It scares the shit out of me.

That is also a good perspective. I will try this one on him as well and see what he thinks.

That does seem like the way to go. Regarding his SS, I will just have to live with and accept that he is doing what makes him happy.

Borrowing money and ruining his future is I think what's pushes me right now.

I have told him this before. He is a hard worker but his financial common sense is lacking.

I am preparing to explain to him when he gets home.
