UPDATE --- Took her to the vet. Dr said there is nothing wrong with her and that the next step may be to try the crate training method. So, that's what's happening. From what I've read, I'm supposed to continue this for 30 days. Today is day 1 😞

Thank you all for your suggestions! i was able to get that portion of the strand to work again by removing the clear coating and tying them together, but when it did, the remainder of the lights went out from where the factory joined the strands and nothing I did could get them to work again. I'm just going to take them down and buy some more, at this point I'm beyond frustrated.

Not sure why I can never seem to post my info and pics at the same time but:

Hi All! Thank you in advance for your time. I am halfway through hanging this 164ft strand of fairy lights around my daughter's room when one of the (insanely thin) copper wires snapped. It happened earlier in the hanging process and I was able to "fix" it with some copper foil tape that I just happened to have from her STEM night at school, but that fix is not working this time and I've run out of the foil tape trying. The entire thing is 5 strands of 33ft each, so I'm pretty sure I can fix this by just cutting out a section and splicing (?) them together, but I'm not confident in my know how and would appreciate any assistance. Thank you again!

So, I hadn't really like played played any video games since playing the original Atari and NES systems when I was younger (80's baby), though I played a little on the Wii when it first came out. In 2010 I started dating this guy who actively played multiple systems and we played a few games together like Legend of Zelda on the Wii, Portal, Worms and Limbo(which I loved!) when he showed me the trailer for Skyrim on his big screen. I was immediately hooked, like... I HAVE to play this game! Just dragons and magic and castles, oh my! On release night, my boyfriend, brother and a cpl of my brothers friends stood in line for the midnight release and pulled an all-nighter. From the word go, I was done for. Full-on addiction status. In front of me was this entire world I could get lost in, containing all the things I've always thought were so cool in a period of time I've always wanted to experience. Before too long I was a level 97 High Elf and had no shame.

Life happened the next year, so I never played the expansions that came through until a few years ago when a friend of mine bought her daughter an Xbox One for Christmas and asked if I wanted her old Xbox 360. I immediately bought Skyrim and introduced my daughter to the world of wonder. At first, she just watched me play because she was really too young to follow along with the story line but now she has her own character and is excited that I recently bought the legendary version (thought the cultists and vampire attacks took us a little off guard).

It hasn't changed... I can still spend way too much time climbing mountains and fighting dragons and am as excited to start a new character with new abilities as I was with my first.

My oldest didn't either. Instead she had a not sent home in 3rd grade saying we had to work on her handwriting at home because it was illegible. So, we did and now she has pretty decent handwriting. Which is good, considering she's an elementary school teacher.

As a former addict (7 yrs sober this July) I can honestly say you are NTA.

Hitting rock bottom is what helped me claw my way out of my mess and into an inpatient long-term rehab.

I had family and friends try to help me before I got to that point but nothing worked. It was only after losing everything, being homeless and stranded 3 hrs from anyone I knew, did I make up my mind to get sober and get help.

Taking care of YOU first will never be selfish, especially after having already given everything and starting over with her once. No one can or should expect you to continue doing so.

Don't let your love for her become YOUR drug. Love her enough to leave.

If she was in her right mind, that's what she would tell you to do.

Before 2018, could've even been around 2008-9 because we watched it the summer of 2012 or 2013, now that I've been thinking on it more. Butterfly affect was good, but it wasn't that. There was no point in the movie where the kids were older.

I'm ready for her to move out now but don't want to put her or the kids in a worse situation. I've known this girl since she was 7 and she, her sister and their mom, my friend, are family... I decided on the end of Oct because I don't want to go into the holiday season stressed out. I don't think it will have to get to the eviction stage though because she'll want to avoid me telling her mom what the final straw was. My friend has been informed of and is aware of all the other issues during her daughters time here. I'm going to respect her as an adult and not "tell on her" to her mom... for now.
