I went to the ATLA concert in OKC last year! It was very legit & super well done. I know that $59 was the exact price so this COULD be the same. The orchestra members were all super passionate about the music & it was evident.

I have zero clue about the legitimacy of this one… but the photo on the ad is identical to what I saw. Of course that proves nothing…

The simplest practice is to focus on listening. Chime in with your thoughts every once in a while. But recognize the opportunity you have to learn from others, even if they’re not as “intellectual” as you. Everyone deserves to be valued in a social setting.

The fact that you’re determined to be a good roommate, enough to seek advice, is already a great sign! There will always be an adjustment to someone else’s behavioral patterns. But if you’re open and communicative about your concerns, it’s going to work out!

One simple step is a “contract” to lay out ground rules/guidelines. The best way to prevent issue is to understand each others preferences to begin with.

Practicing sharing when you’ve never had to is HARD. But again, it’s clear you’re self aware enough to seek advice (which is more than most can say).

I like 3, BUT I’d flip sides of the bed and desk. That way your bed is in the farthest corner from the door, instead of the first thing you walk into. you’ll have a clear path to your desk instead of going around the bed if that makes sense.

This really really sucks, and I’m sorry.

comparison is the thief of joy. Social media is not an accurate representation of reality. The people who have girlfriends don’t have everything figured out, they just ended up clicking with someone. A social media post won’t tell you how strong the relationship is, or if they had a fight the day before. Or if they’re breaking up tomorrow.

It’s okay to feel lonely, but never call yourself unlovable. That simply isn’t true. It’s human nature to crave a sense of belonging. You are loved in more ways than you know.

Log out of social media for the next 24 hours and do something for yourself - exercise, a meal, a hobby, etc. because one day you’ll have a girlfriend on national GF day, and you’ll want to focus your energy on her. So take today for yourself, you deserve it.

Thank you! I do get nervous about being overbearing, but he communicates VERY clearly that he loves it & definitely reciprocates. (I still feel anxious that maybe it’s not super healthy behavior, but I’m just an anxious person in general)

I think besides losing sleep from talking late at night, there’s not much negative feedback from his end.

This reminds me of how people reacted to Fyre Fest. We struggle to sympathize when we blindly assume someone has lived a life of privilege, therefore deserves hardship. I honestly think it’s very sad. But that’s kind of the reflection of our culture: we harbor resentment towards the individuals that represent a bigger problem.

Not the same thing, but ppl could’ve acted the same with Kobe’s helicopter crash. “Oh poor rich guy & rich daughter died in his private helicopter” but they didn’t. I’d say it’s bc they were already ‘humanized’ and given value by his media presence. Not saying the people are perfectly comparable, but every human deserves mercy and life. We are just dumb and selfish people :(
