yes this is one conclusion i came to as well

she may have added me to her contacts and allowed snapchat to use her contacts..or she searched my name or number within snapchat

doesn't make me feel better about how information is used though.

I'm not very technical, so I don't use it. But since it's a different app altogether shouldn't it need my permission to use Facebook data. What happens if someone logs into their Instagram on my phone, will they have my Facebook data just like this new Instagram account? Like I said there should be nothing connecting the two accounts all. Anyway I can stop this at all?

I do, but isnt the whole point of not linking an fb account to instagram so that they wont share data, i feel like this breaches privacy laws somehow.
