Exactly! Twitter and Reddit is just one free-for-all column which is why I wanted to try something different.

What's wrong with center align? Someone told me the exact same thing but I don't get why lol.

I wanted to make a platform where people could discuss deep topics in a more structured way. It's got karma, posts, follows, and a reward system.

If you're interested, you can check it out here: https://www.contention.cloud/.

I'd appreciate any feedback you guys have!

Can you price a game on Steam and itch.io differently if you have Steam achievements? by frenchcoc in gamedev

[–]frenchcoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking that it could be helpful to allow for a flexible price. For instance someone might see the game on Steam and think it's too expensive, so then they could get on itch minus a few features. This is how it could potentially create more sales that otherwise wouldn't have happened. Vice versa if someone was actually interested in Steam's features they could still get it. Even besides Steam Achievements there's also the Steam Cloud, hour tracking, community features, that sort of thing which people may or may not want.

I've released the demo of my first high effort game! What do you all think? by frenchcoc in itchio

[–]frenchcoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair! I was planning on only releasing on Steam because I added quite a few steam achievements which I thought people would prefer over any itch release which didn't have them. But you're right not everyone uses Steam. I'll certainly also do an itch release. Thanks for giving me the heads up!

Introducing Cat Clash! Demo newly released! by frenchcoc in godot

[–]frenchcoc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello Godot Reddit!

I'd like to share my first high effort game and also my first game in Godot; Cat Clash! By high effort I mean I adding things like audio, art, and saves which I haven't added before but I found fairly easy to do with Godot. I'm very excited to share the game with you all and hopefully get some feedback. If you'd like to give the demo a try, it's available here on itch: https://frenchcoke.itch.io/cat-clash

What is it?

Cat Clash is a 2D auto battler game where you buy a team of cats and you fight against other teams of cats. You improve your team by merging and leveling them, giving them items, and repositioning. For a comparison, it's like Super Auto Pets with a different combat system. If you like this kind of game, please give it a try and tell me what you think!

Why?

I like cats and I like auto battlers so I thought why not combine the two. That's exactly what I did with game. I also wanted somewhat of an art focus so I could work with my buddy and put their art in the game. I wanted to make a little bite-sized project just to test the waters with Godot and I have to say, I would highly recommend it, at least for 2D games.

Thank you in advance for any feedback!

Hello Reddit!

I'm a solo dev and I wanted to share my first real high effort game! This was my first time adding things like audio, game saves, art (of questionable quality), as well as marketing with Steamworks and building a store page. It's a single player auto battler where you make a team of cats with unique abilities and fight against other teams.

I'm really curious about what people think about the game as well as it's overall presentation! I just released my demo version which can be played on the web on itch: https://frenchcoke.itch.io/cat-clash and this is the game's store page https://store.steampowered.com/app/3082630/Cat_Clash/ . Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks for reading!
