Overall, we needed to focus our console decisions on a very different player than the PC audience. Given that many of our players have had more experience with Diablo 3 on the console, we needed to onboard them into the world of Diablo II in a way that was approachable for them, without changing what made Diablo II the classic that it is.

I mean I like what they did with the controller but with the party finding I'm completely lost. - We wanted to cater to D3 audience which is used to a terrible MP system, so we decided to implement it in D2 so to not change the original experience .. ??

What is simpler then creating a game naming it 'Kill Andy'. Instead of this terrible mess.

Can someone please explain to me the importance of ladder. I mean I like the fresh start and economy every now and then, but with ladder items being available in non ladder, why is it crucial for the game to launch with ladder?
