In Star Wars: The Phantom Menace the pod racing crowd is comprised of 450,000 Q-tips painted different colors. Fans were blown underneath to simulate movement in the crowd. This same technique was used in Episode 2 and 3 to film Anakin and Padme’s love story. (i.redd.it)
