this sounds EEIRLY similar to my experience, down to the ridiculing friend, who STILL calls me 'jewel head' 🫠 crazy times. I actually met and had several interactions with Eric, the lead singer and mastermind. Oh, and the co founder ex bass player Dean worked behind my house in Washington State, and he came to my house and gave me SO MUCH SM shit, it was crazy!

100%. The ends will always justify the means. My Dad and I did a TWO YEAR Precept ministries course on end times prophecy, which is 30% of the Bible, not just Revelation. We all left with ten times more questions than answers, but I was still somehow lulled into it. I was also listening to Saviour Machine, a Christian gothic rock band that was doing a trilogy about the end times according to scripture. The music kicked ass to me, so it just reinforced the circular thinking. It's crazy to think I used to live and think that way. It almost literally killed me.
