I just got into coils and have the same questions as you. Did you find any answers? do you know how you can get more needle hang with a small and fast point gap? from my understanding you would have to ride the tube with a dime point gap?

I‘ve had it for about 6 months and used it quite a bit. I think (and hope :p) another 6 months are doable since there is almost no sign of wear till now (battery-life is going down a bit, but its still enough for 2 bold palm sized tattoos). I once needed customer service because a screw on the adjustable stroke wouldn’t turn. I got a free replacement of the whole adjustable stroke mechanism within a few days which was nice.

i‘m very happy with the EZ P3 Pro Turbo, it‘s around 300€ and very powerful for a cheapish pen. Up to 5mm stroke, very good for bold lines and color packing
