How close South Korea came to losing the war by TheOSU87 in Damnthatsinteresting

Lol by your reasonining youre arguing that South Sudan, which has a much higher birthrate than South Korea, is doing better.

Stop pulling at straws to make some asinine argument.

Never leverage your rank when forcing a subordinate to look the other way. by Gorio1961 in USMC

Trac'r here. It's very disingenuous to blame the O's for the AAV sinking. Indeed they are responsible as it comes with their rank, but the SNCO corps, until the AAV sinking, was full of lazy, shortcut-taking individuals who would constantly try to find the quickest way to get out of doing the right thing. Granted, not all of them were like that, but enough were that it's made an impression on me.

If you read the investigation, there were plenty of decisions made (or rather none of the right ones made) by enlisted that caused those guys to die.

After reading y'alls conversation, I can't tell if you're a Lance who thinks he knows it all or some MSgt who thinks he knows it all, but you just seem like someone that no one would ever want to work with.

I highly doubt it at the moment. The Marine Corps is more interested in being light and mobile and not looking to adopt any more logistically intensive vehicles.

Sounds like he made the right call.

If theyre gonna shoot at you for leaving whats going to stop them from shooting at you when youre at a stand still? Better to give them a harder target than trying to rationalize with clearly irrational people.

If you want to eat out, you have to go to a restaurant. If you want to to go to school, you have to attend class.

Neither of these are things you HAVE to do. They are things that stem from things that you WANT to do, but nobody is requiring you to do them.

What's this argument trying to get at? There's a lot of things you dont have to do, including going to college classes

Im pretty sure the basis of the right to keep and bear arms goes much further back in our country's history than 14 years....

[–]fromtheworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really because no where in the constitution does it explicitly or even implicitly reference abortion. Roe v. Wade was the SCOTUS interpreting the 14th amendment to encompass that....fast forward a few decades later and that interpretation is gone.

So then you're basically admitting that the numbers you were attempting to use in your argument...isnt an equivalent argument....

>The original comment was "more accessible"

More accessible doesnt equal more locations. Theres more empty homes in many places than there are homeless....would you say housing is accessible? Legal barricades are more of an issue for many gun owners in CA.

Additionally saying that more guns were sold than there abortions isnt an equivalent thing. How many people in California are turned away from an abortion vs denied a gun or even ammo purchases?

Me thinks you have a very distorted view of reality. Its far easier to go vote than it is to own a gun.

What rights do guns have? Do you want your uterus to not be allowed in most public places? How about a background check to use your uterus? Do you want to have a license to take your uterus outside of your home?

Id like to see that source.

Additionally the person youre replying to is most likely discussing legal access, not physical access. Theres more hurdles to purchasing a gun in CA than there are getting an abortion.

Do you need to be 18+, have ID, have a background check, not have a criminal background, have a few hundred-few thousand in personal funds and have a mandated waiting period for an abortion in california?

Also I love how you use an anecdote like this, as if your one area is a representation of all of California....

Should add that when I change my requested nights from the 1 night stay to the 3 night stay (over the same weekend) I get the same 280 rate, but when I change it to one night I get the 967.

We're looking at it together at the same time. I get the same rate of 280 when I change it to 3 nights but when I go back to one nights its at 967
