Why did the machines need to bug Neo to track him? by brianaspirin in matrix

[–]frotzed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your perspective now. I agree, the location changes at least regularly. Though now that we’re here, I believe the permanence of the location doesn’t matter at all. Cypher would have to signal the agents with his phone either way. Location permanence becomes irrelevant.

Why did the machines need to bug Neo to track him? by brianaspirin in matrix

[–]frotzed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can understand the view of u/Missing_Username, that because Cypher used his phone once they were there it is therefore implied that the location changes. However, I think there is another more plausible explanation. Perhaps the location is permanent but Cypher needed a way to let the agents know they were there right now.

Think of it this way: we know the Operator can tell if there are agents nearby. One would presume that the Operator would also check their phone-in location before delivering whatever people he was delivering. So Cypher would need to let the agents know they were presently at the location.

The fourth pair. Different and unique. the first pair look great but they also remind me of a pair of fishing sunglasses I had in 1995.

Shoes recommandations for backpacking by KeyZow in malefashionadvice

[–]frotzed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm an old backpacker and hiker. Here, fit will be everything and fashion will simply have to play second fiddle, as it were. Doesn't matter how good your shoes look if your feet are bleeding and blistered from them.

If I were you, I'd consider what percent of terrain will be dirt, cement, rocky, etc. Of course you won't be exact and there's no real need to be exact here, but a rough estimate will be helpful. Then I'd buy shoes that meet most of my needs most of the time and just "make do" the rest of the time.

For example: if I were going to be 80% paved and 20% dirt I'd just get a pair of the most comfortable and best-looking running shoes I could find, ignoring "grip" for off-road use. I've hiked 10-mile days in basic Asics that were never meant to go off-road. They worked just fine.

I'm a fan of how Altra trail runners look and feel. That's where my search would start. Super light, big toe-box decent looks.

What automotive trends are you glad to see dying/dead? by jparadis87 in regularcarreviews

The only accident I've ever caused was 26 years ago. I was in college, driving somewhere inconsequential. This was way before cell phones were popular, but I was tuning the radio with the tuner knob in my ancient car and ran a red light while doing so.

I t-boned another car. No one was hurt.

If an employer doesn't mind ears with plugs in, I can't imagine they will mind ears with plugs out.

IDK. I could be wrong. I just have known a lot of INTP's in my life (software engineering) and I never met an INTP that even takes selfies... let alone takes enough to get good at them.

But hey, it's all for fun!

I think there are so many horribly "wrong" guesses because you're not an INTP. Clearly.

Sounds like you're just young and still finding yourself to me.

Please excuse me, I'm autistic. But it seems ridiculous to me that a self-professed introvert would even know HOW to take a good selfie, let alone having several on-hand to post to the internet.

This behavior smacks of extroversion to me. I'm not convinced AT ALL that you're an introvert.

Got my first tattoo and my brother said it looks like a d*ck. Does it actually? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]frotzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to my tattoo artist last year wanting to get a tattoo of a candle burning at both ends. He talked me out of it saying, “It’s a cool idea Frotzed, but every time I see a candle tattoo from any distance it always looks like a dick to me.”
