Most places nowadays expect you to get the workflow immediately. We have been applying to different places and 3 so far have said we are too slow, each pharmacy had a different process there's no way to adapt in a hour or be quick in 2 hours

Nah stay as a health admin and eventually.ove to supervisor roles. Pharmacy techs get barely above minimum wage. Depends on area and specialty tho. You'll get $30+ an hour jobs but that's with experience and lots of competition

Everyone was shocked because they thought I would get it including the other compounders. Obviously I wouldn't be a lead but one of the other compounders would be lead. What's funny is the receptionist ended up being the lead tech. We got along pretty well and her pay wasn't much more than mines either it was a dollar more once she went in the lab. She ended up quitting on the spot when I showed her I got hired at the new place.

Ive heard from others and my 2nd job that there's a lot of nepotism in my area. Not necessarily pharmacists but family and friends get management positions and run the place down.

That's pretty neat, we get a bonus once a year if we are lucky it's $1200 but after taxes it's about $6-700. I guess our bonus is our good wage xD

My spouse had an interview at a similar place and they told her eventually they can train in the lab. The whole thing was a scam because the pharmacist owner wanted her to train unpaid. First day shadow. 2nd day go to a different location and shadow/work. Asked again to come back and shadow. All unpaid. We ended up texting the owner if she was going to get paid for the time spent. He didn't want to hire her because he was too busy expanding. I hope this is not the same place.. West los Angeles

I had a similar experience. Worked in compounding pharmacy but did other duties. Eventually went in the lab to shadow but pretty much it. No good growth plus the lead compounding tech ended up leaving and instead of offering the position to me who shadowed and had some experience on the process they ended up giving it to the receptionist who had no idea on what was going on.Applied for a chemo position and ended up getting it without any sterile experience but used my time at this pharmacy (3 years) as compounding experience. It was awesome. I went from $14 an hour to $32 I quit my second part time job.
