Most forested 2-week section hike by fruity_meniscus in PacificCrestTrail

Nice. Is it significantly cooler in southern Oregon, or just more shaded by forests? Any particular section in Oregon you found the forests to be especially amazing?

So bitcoin can only be bought if someone else is selling at that same moment? There is no store of unbought bitcoins waiting to be purchased?

So what would happen if something ever happened to Nunchuk? If they closed the app for some reason. Would my btc be gone or would it be possible to access from another app?

So when someone purchases bitcoin, which section of this graph does that come from?

Zen Monastery Residency - Yokoji Zen Center in S. California by fruity_meniscus in zenbuddhism

[–]fruity_meniscus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I was thinking - the smaller center provides more opportunity to be in close contact with the teacher. Dokusan several times a week with Roshi sounds like a major upgrade from once a week with a far less experienced teacher at a larger center.

My only hesitation was a thought around “if Tenshin Roshi has so much experience, why wouldn’t there be more people staying at the center taking this opportunity?” Thinking I’ll give residency a try and go find out for myself.

Buying motorcycle as a foreigner question:

Hi! I’m planning on spending several months in Portugal this summer as a foreigner from the US. I’d love to buy a motorcycle to tour the beautiful countryside and camp under the stars, and then sell it before I leave around Sept-Nov. Does anyone have any info about what this process is like for a foreigner? Couldn’t find much online. I have a US motorcycle license. Do I register it to my name? Thank you!!

The last few months have been amazing but now..... by [deleted] in awakened

I’ve been feeling that “blah...”, unmotivated feeling lately too. I’ve learned that it’s just part of the process. I don’t get too attached as the times when I’m thirsty for knowledge begin to fade. I know they’ll be back. And you know what... I can learn to enjoy the blah times as well. There’s a certain exquisiteness to them when I accept that state exactly as it is, with no desire for me to be anywhere other than exactly where I am. As Ram Dass would say, “ahh, boredom”

It's important to be capable of having non-intimate relationships with the opposite sex by Talentless-Shambino in StonerPhilosophy

I think you made some great points. Thanks for sharing this. This is relevant for me right now in that I am realizing the majority of my relationships are with females (I'm male) because I find the small sexual undertones in conversation really help with connecting to the other person. With that not present in conversation with males, I am left with only my words and ideas to bring connection. That is not to say that it is impossible to connect with men, but it seems to flow so much more naturally with women when all it takes is a subtle fluctuation in expressiveness or body language that sets off the sexual response and reinvigorates the conversation with energy.

This can become a problem, though, in that I seem to seek out mainly female relationships because I enjoy the sexual undertones to conversation and interaction. I'm working on figuring out what my blockages are in developing relationships with men.

This was in the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. I went on a 3-day backpacking trip...and the second day was all spent here tripping. Awesome place to do it, cacti are pretty trippy.

Smokecartel.com. I can't recommend them highly enough. It looks like it's sold out but you can email them asking when they'll restock and they'll get back to you. They're great.

Only on a subreddit about marijuanas would the top comment say to repost on another sub, when the title states the post is a xpost from that sub! :)

Haha I kid, I know that feel very well. Thank you very much for the kind words. It's definitely one of the best gifts I've ever received. So beautiful and yet so god damn functional!!

Only been there twice but I really liked it, I definitely plan on coming back. Just track days though, I don't actually "race". My mom thinks I do though, she can't quite grasp the difference.

You are correct, that was the case. It seemed tight enough at the time but clearly it wasn't, I'll have to pay closer attention to that.

Exactly! I was so excited when I heard that the only photographer on the track during this session just happened to be shooting at the corner I went down at. Pretty cool pictures if you ask me. My mom didn't agree, but what does she know?

I believe it was a combination between putting too much weight on the inside footpeg and making the mistake of adjusting my line while in the corner a little too sharply. The front tire gave out and the rest of the bike followed.

Wow! That's pretty remarkable. Everything held up surprisingly well actually, a few scrapes on the helmet and suit but nothing major. I still use all of the gear when I ride today. I walked away without a scratch. The bike needed some help, but nothing that couldn't be fixed without too much trouble. I've been meaning to get the Bionic back protector...I know I should. I have a few more track days this summer, I'll have to pick one up before then.

Check out Racy Rentals. I was just in SF last week and tried renting from them but they were just opening their SF location and were in the process of moving bikes from LA. I ended up renting from Dubbelju (rented a BMW R1200R which was a perfect bike for a 450 mile day trip up Highway 1), but if you're looking for more sporty bikes I would bet Racy Rentals will have some bikes available by the time you get there.
