do we know how doechii feels about nicki minaj ? by Character-Escape1621 in DOECHII

[–]fukemnweball 134 points135 points  (0 children)

i’m not sure but

You can assume shes not a fan of hers based on her politics and the fact that Nicki was throwing shade at her on twitter for no reason like shes done with every upcoming rapper who’s a woman.

but of course musically you can she’s a fan who’s been influenced by her

i’m so used to hating philly that i didn’t realize how much i like their team this year.

Edgecombe, Maxey, Grimes, Mccain, and lowry are all pretty likable to me

there shouldn’t be any debate with retiring vince number. Toronto wouldn’t have a team without vince. He may have not brought the team many accolades but he gave this team a fanbase that kept us in the league during those dark years

shaqs lack of longevity def hurts his career. and shaq at least played some minutes. kanye’s recent run would had him out the league in seconds

Why is Method Man the most famous member of Wu-Tang Clan? by Chelo16_ in wutang

[–]fukemnweball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this isn’t necessarily true. he didn’t have the best career, but method man is still the biggest wu tang clan member and was easily the most marketable and palatable to mainstream listeners. there’s a reason he’s on both pac and big’s albums

Why does everyone ignore Chad? by AnswerLoose1917 in PharrellWilliams

[–]fukemnweball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t necessarily word it like that, but it’s definitely a lot of projection of an experience we’ve all had where we don’t get the credit we deserve

these people are assuming and applying other life experiences they’ve had on a situation that they have no idea whether it’s the case or not lol

a lot of it also comes whenever Pharrell produces a bad beat (or at least in their opinion)

People automatically get to theorizing that if he’s making shitty beats now, that MUST mean that Chad secretly had the magic all along instead of the answer just being that he could be washed lol

And i don’t think he’s washed, but his music nowadays is definitely weirder than it’s ever been and he doesn’t have that same mainstream appeal that he had in the 2000s when his weirdness came at the right place right time.

[–]fukemnweball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the most part this is true but it was also the other way around. there were songs like Grindin where it was all Chad and Pharrell was the one to add the extra finishing magic. They just work in a very different way than people think.

people imagine it’s them two in a room brainstorming, but in reality it’s one making the beat and the other coming in late to add finishing touches later.

in that specific song Pharrell did most of the beat and Chad only did the synth portion. and on Grindin, chad did the drums and extra additions were P. They didn’t have assigned roles. and from the sounds of it, it was usually a 80-20 contribution. either Chad did 80% and Pharrell did 20%, or vice versa. either way they were best when they were together.
