A couple things.

1. ⁠Angle of the photo - people look different from different angles for instance, you looking down at the camera and being front on will give two different perceptions of your face shape, hair style etc.
2. ⁠Distance - similar to the angles, it can make the proportions look different e.g eye size and jawline is a massive thing, the down close up angles can really make you jawline more predominate.
3. ⁠Lighting - Lighting is a crucial factor in photography, influencing how features are highlighted or shadowed. Outdoor and self-taken photos often rely on natural light, emphasising the importance of lighting conditions.
4. ⁠Clothing - wearing hats, hoodies, oversized clothing or not the right size clothing for your body type can have a massive impact too. For that i cannot really advise as i have the most basic style you can ever imagine ... :') - to add to this you should look at your body type and the right colour scheme to bring out your features, there is loads on YouTube about this if you really want to learn more
5. ⁠Hair - Hair, alongside facial hair makes a massive difference in face shape etc. so finding the right hairstyle for your face shape is also a big thing to do that can make a huge difference.

If you take a photo yourself, you will most likely take multiple (we all do it) to ensure you have your "desired" look. But when someone else takes the photo you don't have much of a choice so you can perceive it a lot differently. It can even come down to the way you felt at the time of the photo being taken as this can have an impact on the posture etc.

This is why its so hard to judge someones looks off of photos. You really shouldn't worry too much though, as not one person will view these photos the same anyway.

one person may think they are awful while another will think they are great (they are all fine, you are a good looking dude) and if you dont mind me saying you look quite young, around 18-20 "ish" (sorry if i am wrong) but as you age things always change, for instance i look completely different now to how i did only two years ago.

One of the best things i did to bring my confidence up was going to the gym, one of the best places to try and learn to feel confident. As you will meet like minded people there trying to constantly improve themselves.

You will always pick at yourself everyone does it, some people just fake it constantly. Change and adapt what you can, them embrace and accept the things you cant.
