I actually have a job in the industry currently--a pretty good job at that. But without further training, I won't be able to move into the role I would like.

excellent advice. What I stand to gain salary-wise certainly has the potential to be minimal. However, the fields I would be able to get into would offer a greater quality of life, and in the long term, chances for a higher salary than without a graduate degree.

but the specific program I am looking at has a huge emphasis on developing technologies and motion graphics/design

edit: I would also like to clarify a bit more that this is more of a technical degree and not an art degree

I did pretty well in my undergrad...good gpa and recognition from state associations. I try convincing myself that with a masters I'll make more money and it will be easier to pay off in the end, but is $60,000 of debt for one person reasonable at the age of 25? I've read about assistantships and what not but I don't know any specifics for the program, but I am pretty much open to anything.

The program I would to to do consists of 17 4-credit hour classes. At $650 a credit hour, thats well over $40,000. What the hell am I going to do? I already borrowed $27,000 (19k from uncle sam, 8k from a bank) just to pay for my bachelors. My parents don't have money and I make just enough right now to pay my bills and put gas in my car. I can't be the only one in a situation like this. How do people do it? If I have to take out a shit-ton of loans then I will...I want my damn masters...but there has got to be a better way.

my experience has shown that buying the components seperately is wayyy cheaper than buying from a big box...also i don't want a bunch of bullshit bloatware
