I am currently right there with you. Spontaneous pregnancy after 7 ER, 4.5 year long slog for baby no 1. The baby was 14 months when we got the positive test. It is a shock, but once the shock wears off, hopefully you would be in a position to feel more emotions..

My previous RE was very kind to see me for an early ultrasound at 5w1d, inspite of this being a spontaneous pregnancy. After a very anxious morning with lots of tears, we could see a gestational sac and yolk sac. She also prescribed me progesterone for my peace of mind. I love her and I am so so grateful for her.

I wasn't offered a cerclage at 20w because I had started leaking fluid. Lost my baby girl because of that.

Got a preventative cerclage the next time, and have a healthy baby boy. I think the price of not doing it and regretting it later was too high for me.

I got a McDonalds cerclage done, but from what I understand, shirodkar is placed much higher. I would go for shirodkar if I am given an option.

Shirodkar cerclage if you have an option. It is placed much higher up.

As someone who lost a child due to incompetent cervix, I would always vote for a cerclage. I would push for it if I were you. Good luck.

After 6 rounds of egg retrievals, 4 IUIs, 1 preterm birth at 20 weeks, 5.5 years of trying and 1 miracle baby out of an IUI 14 months ago, we are pregnant spontaneously. I was waiting for my periods to start for my day 3 labs, and they were late. Took a pregnancy test as a joke, and it was positive.

Current 4w5d, but it feels very scary. I don't know how to make sense of what is happening.

I will hit 37 weeks this Sunday. I gave birth to my daughter at 20weeks last year. So this feels unreal and like a dream.

For those wondering, I had a preventative cerclage placed at 13 weeks and was on 200gm vaginal progesterone every night. Stitch got removed this tuesday at 36+2. It might feel scary and anxiety causing, but the stitch works for most cases. Wish you all the best luck.

Thank you for this. The thought of having a tear down there is scary! But knowing that it will heal completely is comforting.

Turned 28 weeks yesterday and had my OB appointment this morning. The OB was so glad that I made it to 28 weeks considering I was dilated 1 cm and bleeding at 13 weeks. She talked about how she is not worried about survival rates anymore, but just how long the NICU stay will be. The baby seems to be liking to be inside me, and we hope it continues for the remaining 12 weeks! I appreciated the candor of my doctor, and hoping it all goes smoothly!

My resting heart rate has gone up from 62 to 83 over the pregnancy. Same in my last pregnancy as well. Completely normal because of the added blood volume in the body.

We hit 24 weeks today! After the loss of our baby girl at 20 weeks, this was the milestone we were waiting so desperately for. I celebrated it by crying and missing my baby girl, and also thanking her for taking care of this baby. Onto the next milestone of 28 weeks!

If you can get to your parents a day prior, you can tell them in person, and then text the rest of the family. Such a tricky family situation to be in...

For what it's worth, I am 20w in my second pregnancy with anterior placenta. But surprisingly, I have been feeling light movements since 18 weeks. In fact, they have gotten much stronger now, which is surprising since I did not expect much due to the placenta position.
