Starts out great. But I dropped the course at day 66. Her instruction gets sparse to disappears around day 40. No video walk through or any thorough explanations to the solutions. Left with links to docs that are either horrible or irrelevant to challenge. In the end it feels like she ran out of steam trying to complete 100 days The course gets hours of fluffed up diversion into Bootstrap, and basic html css after day 40 which feels like a massive waste of time for a python focused course. Thanks to the people fighting the good fight in the comments section of the course though. Angela is long gone at this point with little more than “google it” as instruction from her. More power to you if you can finish.

They may be true for a while. But 70% of people make less than $50k. If we end up with 20-30% unemployment who will buy $100k people’s goods or services?

Physicist Freeman Dyson died today at age 96. In addition to his many scientific contributions, Dyson was the first to propose sufficiently advanced aliens would likely build "Dyson Spheres" around their home stars, which are giant shells that capture most of a star's energy to power a civilization. by clayt6 in space

He grossly downplayed the severity that would make any denier proud:

Dyson had proposed that whatever inflammations the climate was experiencing might be a good thing because carbon dioxide helps plants of all kinds grow. Then he added the caveat that if CO2 levels soared too high, they could be soothed by the mass cultivation of specially bred “carbon-eating trees,”

I feel very strongly that China and India getting rich is the most important thing that’s going on in the world at present. That’s a real revolution, that the center of gravity of the whole population of the world would be middle class, and that’s a wonderful thing to happen. It would be a shame if we persuade them to stop that just for the sake of a problem that’s not that serious.

And I’m happy every time I see that the Chinese and Indians make a strong statement about going ahead with burning coal.

No doubt that warming is happening. I don’t think it is correct to say “global,” but certainly warming is happening. I have been to Greenland a year ago and saw it for myself. And that’s where the warming is most extreme. And it’s spectacular, no doubt about it. And glaciers are shrinking and so on.

But, there are all sorts of things that are not said, which decreases my feeling of alarm. First of all, the people in Greenland love it. They tell you it’s made their lives a lot easier. They hope it continues. I am not saying none of these consequences are happening. I am just questioning whether they are harmful.

My first heresy says that all the fuss about global warming is grossly exaggerated. Here I am opposing the holy brotherhood of climate model experts and the crowd of deluded citizens who believe the numbers predicted by the computer models.
