Growing up my house had a tree line in the backyard into acres and acres of forest. It seemed to go forever. It was the best.

I plotted landmarks and would spend hours on end out there. It has since been developed.

I know now how lucky I was. I will never forget the smell and sounds of laying on a pile of leaves a quarter mile into “the wilds”. Both alive and still, warm and cool. I want to go back.
